Why Use Azpects Grouting?

EASYJoint paving grout or jointing compound is a very straightforward, effective and visually appealing way to fill joints between paving, whether it is natural stone paving (such as Sandstone or Limestone) or Porcelain Paving. It is appropriate for all types of garden paving slabs provided there is a gap of at least 3mm wide minimum. We would recommend 5mm for the optimal joint, with a depth of 25mm (narrow joint compound).

As stated, the EASYJoint is easy to use – simply soak the garden pavers with water before commencing and then simultaneously sweep the jointing compound into the joints, letting the water take the strain. It can even be done by those who may not have a huge amount of DIY experience.

How to Use EasyJoint (Natural Paving)

As we have mentioned above, it is easy to use EasyJoint to add grouting to your paving. We have created a small and straightforward guide to help you start, especially if this is your first time using this product.

Step 1 – First you need to assess your paved area and measure to ensure that the joints are at least 3mm wide minimum, we recommend 5mm, and 20mm deep.

Step 2 – If your paving is made of natural stone, such as Sandstone and Limestone, then you need to make sure you soak the area before you begin. A hose pipe will do the job, or a watering can.

Step 3 – Once the paving is thoroughly damp, pour out the EasyJoint onto the paving.

Step 4 – Add water to the grout to create a slurry.

Step 5 – As you are watering the compound, start sweeping it into the joints. Be quick when doing this because you don’t want the compound to dry out. We suggest you work with a 2nd person so one person can do the sweeping while the other is on water-pouring duty.

Step 6 – Don’t be shy on the Easy Joint, if you have used up all the product, pour more onto the paving and start all over again and ensure that all gaps are filled. Be diligent if you are doing this project when the weather is warm because that would lead to the compound drying more quickly.

Step 7 – Once all the gaps have been filled. Go over the paving surface with another spray of water to wash away any grout residue, not only will this make the entire area look clean, but it also helps to compress the compound further.

Step 8 – Finally, use a pointing tool to smooth over the jointing and give it a professional look.

EasyJoint Select Application

There are 2 ways in which you can apply EasyJoint Select jointing to your paving.

Method 1: Wet Application Method

Step 1 – Apply the Product

Begin by spreading half the contents of the EASYJoint Select container evenly over the area you wish to joint. Using a soft brush or squeegee, work the compound into the paving joints, making sure each gap is filled completely.

Step 2 – Compact with WaterSet your hose to a spray setting and gently flush water over the surface. This helps the compound settle and compact fully into the joints, ensuring all gaps are filled and no air pockets remain.

Step 3 – Repeat and Rinse

Continue applying and compacting until you’ve covered your entire paving area. Once done, give the surface a final light rinse to remove any excess material. Allow the paving to dry completely.

Optional Finishing Touch

For a more refined look, you can smooth and shape the joints using a jointing iron or trowel while the compound is still damp. This optional step adds a clean, professional finish.

Step 4 – Let It Cure

No further work is needed — simply leave the jointing to cure naturally. You’ll only need to check the area if there’s been extreme weather shortly after application. Otherwise, your joints will set firm and durable on their own.

Method 2: Dry Application Method (For use when applying in temperatures at or below freezing)

Do Not Wet the Surface Before ApplicationIt is essential that the paving surface remains completely dry before applying the jointing compound. Introducing water during freezing conditions can cause it to freeze, preventing the jointing from curing properly.

Seal the Paving First

To prevent staining and ensure long-lasting results, you must seal your paving before application. This not only protects the surface but also strengthens the edges, helping your paving remain durable over time.

Compact the Joints Thoroughly

Unlike the wet application method—where compaction is optional—this step is absolutely critical for the dry method. After sweeping the compound into the joints, use a jointing iron to firmly compact the material, ensuring it’s securely packed and fully settled into place.

Allow to Cure Naturally

Once applied and compacted, simply leave the jointing to cure naturally. The only time you may need to reapply is if heavy rainfall occurs immediately after application.

What Do I Need to Lay Porcelain?

You'll also need a joining compound, such as EasyJoint to fill the gaps between your Porcelain Slabs. We'd also recommend adding Porcelain Primer to the back of the slabs to ensure it stays put for years!

How Many Square Meters Shall I Buy?

If you times the Width by the Length of your new patio, you'll get the Square Meterage needed. We'd always recommend adding 10% for wastage and cuts.

How Much Will Delivery Cost?
