Composite Cladding, Answered
What is the difference between Traditional and Slatted SG cladding?
Traditional is a 145mm wood-grain board with a timeless finish, while Slatted SG is a wider 219mm board with a modern slatted profile. SG boards can be fitted vertically or horizontally, opening up more design options.
Can I fit composite cladding myself?
Yes, the click-fit tongue-and-groove system is genuinely DIY friendly. You screw each board to the battens and click the next into place, with the fixings hidden for a clean finish.
Can it be used indoors?
Absolutely. Feature walls in living rooms and hallways are hugely popular, and the boards even work as ceiling panels for a bespoke look. The same boards handle exterior facades, garden rooms and garage walls.
How do I work out coverage?
Each Slatted SG board covers 0.5 square metres. For Traditional boards, each 2.5m length covers a 120mm face, so measure your wall area and the product pages will guide the quantity; our team can double-check for you.
What maintenance does it need?
None of the usual timber chores. There is no staining, sealing or painting, just an occasional wash with mild soapy water to keep the boards looking fresh.
Will the colour fade?
The Slatted SG range uses capped composite engineered for UV resistance and colour fade protection, and the Traditional range is similarly weather-stable. Both are built to keep their looks year after year.
What guarantee do the cladding ranges carry?
Both Wessex Verde cladding ranges come with a reassuring 10-year guarantee covering their durability and performance.
