Our Umbra Cobble Setts, along with the rest of our natural stone range, are exceptionally durable and designed to retain their beauty for many years with minimal maintenance. Once installed, you can enjoy your outdoor space without worrying about frequent renovations or replacements.

Affordable, Elegant & Timeless

Transforming your garden doesn’t have to be expensive. The Umbra Cobble Setts offer a cost-effective and visually appealing way to add charm and sophistication to your landscape. You don’t need to cover large areas to make an impact — use them as patio edging, garden borders, or charming stepping stones to achieve a classic, cottage-inspired look.

Naturally Evolving Character

Because these cobbles are made from authentic sandstone, their tones and shades evolve beautifully over time, giving your patio a unique, ever-changing appearance. Unlike concrete alternatives that fade and weather visibly, Umbra Cobble Setts only grow more characterful with age, ensuring your garden remains distinctive and full of natural charm for years to come.

Umbra Sandstone Cobble Setts for Your Garden

There are countless creative ways to use Umbra Cobble Setts to make your garden truly stand out.

One of the most popular applications is as patio edging or borders. Framing your paving with cobbles in matching tones adds a refined, finished touch — giving your outdoor space a sleek, sophisticated appearance. This simple addition not only tidies up the edges but also enhances the texture and depth of your patio design.

You can also use Cobble Setts as edging throughout your garden to create a defined, structured look. They work beautifully along pathways, guiding the way and adding a subtle decorative touch. Use them to border lawns for a neat, manicured appearance, or outline flower beds and planting areas to highlight your greenery and blooms. Cobble Setts can even be used to frame patios, driveways, or water features, creating a cohesive, polished aesthetic that ties your entire landscape together. Their natural textures and colour variations provide both elegance and visual interest, ensuring that your garden looks thoughtfully designed and visually harmonious from every angle.

The Umbra Cobble Setts pair beautifully with Umbra Sandstone Paving and other grey or ash-toned slabs, while also providing an elegant contrast to darker materials such as Carbon Black Limestone — giving you complete flexibility to achieve your desired style.

Umbra Sandstone Cobble Setts Maintenance

Just like Sandstone Paving slabs, Sandstone Cobbles also benefit from regular maintenance to keep them looking their best for years to come.

When it comes to sealing, the need largely depends on the environment where your Cobble Setts are installed. For many gardens, sealing is optional. However, we strongly recommend sealing if your cobbles are exposed to conditions such as:

  • Areas prone to algae or moss growth
  • Exposure to animal droppings or urine
  • Beneath trees, especially berry-bearing ones frequented by birds
  • Surfaces used for BBQs or outdoor cooking

At Stone Zone, we proudly supply Azpects products, which are perfectly suited for natural stone. The Azpects Easy Seal SSP 5L and Azpects Easy Seal Enhancer & Sealer 5L are specifically formulated to penetrate, seal, and protect natural stone and concrete paving. Both products are designed to work seamlessly with natural stone, giving you peace of mind and ensuring your paving stays looking fresh and vibrant.

Looking after your Paving

Looking After Your Paving

Limestone and Sandstone is a natural stone and as a result of that, the slabs will discolour and change to a slightly lighter shade of blue over time.

However, there are ways to hinder the fading process and in order to ensure the colours remain as fresh and vivid as possible, we highly recommend purchasing a sealer alongside your order with us to ensure the natural colour remains for years to come.

Sandstone and Limestone Differences

What is the Difference Between Limestone and Sandstone Paving?

There are several qualities between Limestone and Sandstone Paving Slabs that are very similar and this is because both of these paving slabs derive from natural stone quarries based in India where large forms of natural stone have developed over thousands of years.

As the more economical option, Limestone is a tad bit more brittle in comparison to Sandstone. But please don't forget that once Limestone has been installed, the durability will be the same as Sandstone Paving, therefore you won't need to worry about the slabs getting damaged.

One factor to take note of is that Limestone will naturally discolour as time passed, whether or not you have applied Sealant to the slabs. And this eventual fading does require some maintenance and TLC to retain the original colour as long as possible. Maintaining the original colours in Sandstone Paving is a little easier in comparison.

We supply a varied range of Sandstone and Limestone Paving that come in different types and styles. We supply Sandstone and Limestone paving slabs in a Weathered Paving version, with Sandstone Paving slabs can also be bought as Sawn Paving too. If you also want matching garden edging or a nice patio paving border, matching Cobble Setts are also available for both Sandstone and Limestone Paving.

Taking all these factors into consideration deciding between Sandstone Paving or Limestone Paving, it really depends on the colours you are looking for, and whether or not you are not bothered about your Indian Limestone fading over time. Both require the same upkeep and have a lovely rustic look to them.

Why Choose our Natural Paving

Our paving slabs are calibrated to a 22mm depth which ensures perfect size consistency, long-lasting durability and high quality when laying the slabs.

These slabs are much more porous than other paving materials, especially when compared to Porcelain Paving slabs. This high porosity is a result of the fact that Limestone and Sandstone are naturally developed stones and because of this they will also show signs of discolouration as well, but fear not! Using a sealer can "lock in" the colour of your slabs for years to come.
