Product Description

Catalyst VA5 (250ml) is available for use with DALTEX Performance UVR Resin.

DALTEX Performance is already pre-catalysed to ensure curing takes place. However, additional Catalyst VA5 can be added to accelerate curing, particularly when working in colder conditions.

CATALYST ADDITION GUIDE

Surface Temperature Catalyst VA5 Addition
5–10°C 3–5ml
10–15°C 2–3ml
15–20°C 1–2ml

Important:

  • Add Catalyst VA5 to Part A Base and mix thoroughly before adding Part B Activator.
  • Use a consistent catalyst quantity throughout the mix. Do not add catalyst randomly between batches.
  • The optimum catalyst level may vary depending on site conditions and should be established from initial batches.
  • More catalyst = faster working and curing times.
  • Too much catalyst can cause the mix to cure too quickly, making it difficult to lay and maintain a workable edge.
  • Too little catalyst can result in slow curing and leave the finished surface more vulnerable to deformation.

IMPORTANT SITE PRECAUTIONS

For the best results:

  • Start work early in the day and aim to finish by early afternoon to maximise curing time during daylight.
  • Ensure the aggregate is completely dry, with a moisture content of 0.5% or below. Do not use damp aggregate.
  • Check the weather forecast before starting and ensure there is no risk of rain or frost before the resin has fully cured.
  • Work only when operating, surface and air temperatures are between 5°C (and rising) and 30°C.
  • Relative humidity should be between 30% and 90%.
  • Check the surface temperature and dew point before starting. The surface temperature should be at least 3°C above the dew point.

DO NOT START WORK IF:

❌ Rain or frost is expected before the resin can fully cure.

❌ Air or surface temperatures are outside the recommended 5°C–30°C range.

❌ Relative humidity is outside 30%–90%.

❌ The surface temperature is less than 3°C above the dew point.
