Why Choose Carbon Limestone Cobble Setts

At Stone Zone, we understand that landscaping projects are a long-term investment, and you want your materials to look beautiful and perform well for years to come. That’s why our Carbon Limestone Cobble Setts, along with the rest of our natural stone range, are designed with durability in mind. When properly maintained, these robust edging stones will remain strong and attractive for many years—giving you lasting confidence in their quality and performance.

Transforming your garden doesn’t have to be costly. The Carbon Limestone Cobble Setts offer a budget-friendly yet elegant way to enhance your outdoor space. You don’t need to use them extensively to make an impact—simply add them as borders or edging between soft and hard landscaping areas to achieve a refined, traditional finish that elevates your garden design.

Because Carbon Setts are formed from natural stone, their colours will gradually lighten and evolve over time, creating a charming, antique-inspired appearance that’s full of character. Unlike concrete edging, which often shows clear signs of wear and fading, these natural cobbles age gracefully, maintaining their elegance and integrity for years to come.

Carbon Limestone Cobble Setts for Your Garden

There are many ways to enhance your garden with Carbon Cobble Setts, allowing you to create a space that perfectly reflects your vision.

One of the most popular uses is for edging and borders. Adding a border that complements the colour of your paving instantly creates a clean, sophisticated, and cohesive look. This simple detail can make your patio or pathway feel more structured, professional, and refined. Borders not only enhance aesthetics but also serve a functional purpose, helping to define spaces, separate different areas of your garden, and prevent paving materials from shifting over time. Whether you choose a subtle, matching tone for a seamless look or a contrasting shade to make the edges stand out, a well-planned border can transform an ordinary paving layout into a professional, refined, and visually striking feature.

Another option is to use Carbon Setts along the edges of your garden to provide definition and shape. This allows you to experiment with different designs and layouts depending on the style and atmosphere you want to achieve. Carbon Cobble Setts pair particularly well with black, charcoal, or grey paving, creating a harmonious and visually striking finish.

Carbon Limestone Cobble Setts Maintenance

As with Limestone Paving slabs, Limestone Cobbles require regular care to ensure they stay bright, clean, and looking their best for years to come.

When deciding whether to seal your cobble setts, the key factor is their location and exposure. In many cases, sealing is optional, particularly in areas with minimal foot traffic and low exposure to moisture or staining agents. However, for cobbles situated in high-risk areas—such as under trees, near shrubs, or in spots where algae, moss, or bird droppings are common—sealing is strongly recommended. Similarly, surfaces exposed to animal urine, fallen berries, or BBQ residue can experience discolouration or surface damage over time if left unprotected.

At Stone Zone, we supply the full range of Azpects products, ideal for keeping your paving vibrant and well-protected. Options like the Azpects Easy Seal SSP 5L and Azpects Easy Seal Enhancer & Sealer 5L are specifically formulated to penetrate, seal, and protect natural stone and concrete paving. Sealing provides an additional layer of protection, helping to preserve the natural colour, texture, and finish of your stone. It also makes ongoing maintenance easier, reducing the need for frequent cleaning or restorative work, and ensures your cobble setts retain their beauty and integrity for many years.

Looking after your Paving

Looking After Your Paving

Limestone and Sandstone is a natural stone and as a result of that, the slabs will discolour and change to a slightly lighter shade of blue over time.

However, there are ways to hinder the fading process and in order to ensure the colours remain as fresh and vivid as possible, we highly recommend purchasing a sealer alongside your order with us to ensure the natural colour remains for years to come.

Sandstone and Limestone Differences

What is the Difference Between Limestone and Sandstone Paving?

There are several qualities between Limestone and Sandstone Paving Slabs that are very similar and this is because both of these paving slabs derive from natural stone quarries based in India where large forms of natural stone have developed over thousands of years.

As the more economical option, Limestone is a tad bit more brittle in comparison to Sandstone. But please don't forget that once Limestone has been installed, the durability will be the same as Sandstone Paving, therefore you won't need to worry about the slabs getting damaged.

One factor to take note of is that Limestone will naturally discolour as time passed, whether or not you have applied Sealant to the slabs. And this eventual fading does require some maintenance and TLC to retain the original colour as long as possible. Maintaining the original colours in Sandstone Paving is a little easier in comparison.

We supply a varied range of Sandstone and Limestone Paving that come in different types and styles. We supply Sandstone and Limestone paving slabs in a Weathered Paving version, with Sandstone Paving slabs can also be bought as Sawn Paving too. If you also want matching garden edging or a nice patio paving border, matching Cobble Setts are also available for both Sandstone and Limestone Paving.

Taking all these factors into consideration deciding between Sandstone Paving or Limestone Paving, it really depends on the colours you are looking for, and whether or not you are not bothered about your Indian Limestone fading over time. Both require the same upkeep and have a lovely rustic look to them.

Why Choose our Natural Paving

Our paving slabs are calibrated to a 22mm depth which ensures perfect size consistency, long-lasting durability and high quality when laying the slabs.

These slabs are much more porous than other paving materials, especially when compared to Porcelain Paving slabs. This high porosity is a result of the fact that Limestone and Sandstone are naturally developed stones and because of this they will also show signs of discolouration as well, but fear not! Using a sealer can "lock in" the colour of your slabs for years to come.
