Azpects EASYGrout, Argent

The Stone Zone are the UK's trusted garden paving suppliers. For this reason, we offer a wide range of paving grout for Sandstone Paving, Porcelain Paving and more!

Azpects are the UK's leading Paving Grout manufacturers and create a wide range of jointing products that are very popular within our Stone Zone Landscaping range amongst both professional Landscapers and retail customers.

EASYGrout provides superior strength and high quality, specifically designed for Porcelain Paving. This cementitious grout is unique in comparison to traditional floor tiling grouts; the main difference being that it readily mixes with water, producing an easy-to-use, slurry-like joint filling and grouting mortar.

This high-performance grout was designed with durability and resilience in mind. Due to its high strength and longevity, Porcelain Paving is a very popular product; Porcelain Paving patios, if laid properly, will last a lifetime, maintaining it's strength and colour. Azpects have created a jointing grout to match this.

With its superior strength and cement-like properties, EASYGrout is commercially safe for use across public patios and pathways that have heavy foot traffic, as well as areas that endure daily traffic, such as driveways.

Available in four popular colours, including light grey, dark grey, beige and white, this is suitable for grouting joints internally and externally around porcelain tiling and paving slabs, filling joints from 5mm up to 25mm wide with a minimum joint depth of 20mm.

EASYGrout Argent is a light grey colour that is highly versatile when you're looking at pairing it with our vast, Porcelain Paving range. Grey has been the most popular colour for a long time, as people enjoy its simple, clean and modern look. Azpects EASYGrout differs to Azpects Select as the particles are much larger and can vary in colour.

How to use Azpects EASYGrout
As its name suggests, Azpects EASYGrout is very easy to use; you'll find helpful instructions included on the tub itself, with a full list of equipment you'll need. You don't necessarily need to hire a professional Landscaper to use this product, if you're an experienced DIYer with the right equipment, this task should be manageable for you. You might want to consider asking a friend to help though as it's a very hands-on job.

Step 1

The first step is mixing the first sachet of powder with clean, cold water until the mixture resembles a smooth consistency with no lumps. Using an electric paddle is the best way to ensure the grout is well-mixed. Try not to over-mix the mortar, as this can create air bubbles.

Step 2

Next, wet your porcelain or ceramic tiles until they soaked through but not quite enough to create standing water. Once the slabs are covered in water, you can start to tip your mixture over the joints, working in small areas at a time.

Step 3

Start filling the joints with the EASYGrout mortar using a squeegee. Try to fill the gaps as quickly as you can, getting a friend to help you if possible. Ensure that the joints are all as evenly filled as each other; the grout should reach just below the level of the paving surface. Avoid too much residue where you can.

Step 4

Ensure your paving is as clean as possible by wiping away the residue with a clean, damp sponge. This part is really important so spend as much time as you can on it. We would then recommend going over the tiles with another clean, damp cloth so they are nice and clean.

Step 5

Finally, once the grout has set (it usually takes around 1-2 hours), you can wipe down any further residue with a wet, damp cloth. For any stubborn areas of residue, use Azpects Grout Residue Remover.

PLEASE NOTE

It is not suitable for use on vertical surfaces. It is designed specifically for ceramic and porcelain tiles and is not recommended for use on natural stone. Natural stone and porous materials are particularly at risk from permanent discolouration.

What is the Difference Between Porcelain and Sandstone?
When selecting paving materials for your outdoor spaces, Porcelain and Sandstone offer distinct qualities suited to different preferences and requirements.

Porcelain Paving

Porcelain is a manufactured material designed to replicate the aesthetic of natural stone while delivering superior durability and minimal maintenance. Its production involves vitrification, where pure clays and minerals like quartz are heated to temperatures exceeding 1200°C. This process results in:

Durability: Porcelain slabs are exceptionally strong, resisting scratches, stains, and wear over time.

Non-Porous Surface: Being waterproof and resistant to mold, moss, and frost makes Porcelain ideal for wet climates or areas around pools.

Minimal Maintenance: Unlike natural stone, Porcelain retains its texture and color without sealing, requiring only basic cleaning.

Safety: With an R11 skid rating, Porcelain provides excellent grip even in wet conditions, ensuring safety in high-traffic or family-friendly areas.

Modern Aesthetic: Its refined, sleek appearance works well in contemporary garden designs.

Sandstone Paving

Sandstone, a natural material sourced from quarries (primarily in India), exudes a traditional, rustic charm. Its distinctive riven texture and natural variations make it a popular choice for homeowners seeking a timeless appeal.

Eco-Friendly: Sandstone’s porous nature allows rainwater absorption, aiding in natural drainage and potentially reducing flood risk.

Natural Aging: Over time, Sandstone develops a weathered patina, appealing to those who enjoy a vintage or aged aesthetic.

Maintenance: Regular sealing is needed to preserve its colors and protect against weathering. Without sealing, its hues gradually fade to softer, lighter tones.

Traditional Look: Sandstone’s textured finish and natural variations add warmth and character to outdoor spaces.

Comparative Overview

Feature Porcelain Sandstone
Durability High—resists wear, weather, and stains Moderate—requires sealing and upkeep
Maintenance Low—easy to clean, no sealing needed High—regular sealing to maintain color
Water Absorption Non-porous—completely waterproof Porous—absorbs water, aids drainage
Aesthetic Sleek, modern, and consistent Natural, rustic, and textured
Environmental Impact Low water absorption limits eco benefits Supports rainwater absorption
Cost Generally higher upfront cost More affordable, but with ongoing upkeep
Choosing the Right Option
Your decision should align with your aesthetic goals, maintenance preferences, and environmental considerations:

Opt for Porcelain Paving for a modern, sleek look with minimal maintenance and long-term durability.
Choose Sandstone Paving for a traditional, natural vibe with environmental benefits and a rustic charm.
Both materials bring unique advantages, allowing you to tailor your choice to your lifestyle and outdoor needs.

What Do I Need to Lay Porcelain?

You'll also need a joining compound, such as EasyJoint to fill the gaps between your Porcelain Slabs. We'd also recommend adding Porcelain Primer to the back of the slabs to ensure it stays put for years!

How Many Square Meters Shall I Buy?

If you times the Width by the Length of your new patio, you'll get the Square Meterage needed. We'd always recommend adding 10% for wastage and cuts.

How Much Will Delivery Cost?

It depends on where you are!

Delivery is calculated once you go through to your basket.
