VUBA GrassMac System
This award-winning invention has been designed for Artificial Grass installation; providing an innovative, eco-friendly base that will help Landscapers by ‘reducing digging,’ as well as offer a long-lasting solution to customers who are looking to keep their Grass clean and fresh.
GrassMac is a high-performance solution also designed to eliminate the common issues found with traditional sub-bases like sand or grano dust, such as subsidence and high upkeep. Engineered for strength and longevity, it’s a low-maintenance option that’s fully SUDS-compliant, promoting effective, sustainable drainage. Perfect for residential gardens or commercial landscapes, GrassMac delivers a stable, reliable foundation you can count on.
Lastly, it provides a great amount of drainage in comparison to other Artificial Grass bases. Not only does this make it ideal for weather conditions that include heavy rain and flash flooding, but also means that pet-owners don’t need to worry about smells that can occur when they urinate on their Astro Turf. You can even lift the Artificial Grass and fully jet wash the GrassMac so it is completely refreshed.
How to buy GrassMac
Complete system includes:
1 x 25kg Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR) 2-6mm
3 x 12.5kg Mac Mix 1-5mm
1 x 5.25kg GrassMac Binder
Please purchase separately: 1 Layer of 1mm SRM (Structural Reinforcement Mesh)
Each kit covers: 3.5sqm at 20mm depth.
What is GrassMac?
This complete system has been designed to be installed as the image suggests; on top of VUBA’s SRM (Structural Reinforcement Mesh) with the Artificial Grass then installed on top. The GrassMac System is made up of a blend of recycled aggregate and SBR rubber, combined on-site with GrassMac resin to form a semi-flexible foundation layer.

Always wear industrial gloves and eye protection and avoid direct contact with uncured binder.
- Dig to an installation depth of 20mm and remove any debris from your subsoil
- Apply a Geo-textile membrane to your subsoil from the farthest edge of the perimeter throughout the project
- Lay 125mm of MOT Type 3 Limestone
- Optional: add a 25mm ‘capping’ layer of 5-10mm angular stone such as 10mm Basalt Chippings
- Add your SRM base layer which will provide a structural skeleton to the system
- Use a lute to spread the GrassMac to 20mm depth
- After the GrassMac has cured for 2-4 hours, it is ready for Artificial Grass to be installed as usual
