Are you looking for traditional-looking garden paving with all the benefits of modern Porcelain Paving? Our 'Natural' range is popular due to its unrivalled similarities to all the Natural Stone Paving favourites we sell, such as Sandstone Paving, Limestone Paving, Slate Paving and Granite Paving.

Whilst this range of Porcelain Paving may look riven with rough edges, like traditional Slate Paving, the edges and surfaces are, in fact, completely smooth! The clever manufacturing process of this garden paving range involves the manufacturing of each Porcelain Paving slab, to perfectly mimic what the real Grey Slate Paving would look like.

Like the rest of Stone Zone's Porcelain Paving supplies, the Natural range of Porcelain undergoes a rectifying and vitrifying process which ensures 100% consistency across each paving stone. These processes are very important and will be most appreciated when it comes to installation, and each paving slab is correct to the millimetre in terms of sizing.

Porcelain Paving Garden Ideas

Porcelain Paving Garden Ideas

Are you wondering why Porcelain Paving is the best choice for your garden? We have noticed a growing number of customers who enjoy having a patio in their garden where they can design a sitting or an outdoor dining area in their garden. These paving stones are an excellent choice for al-fresco dining and entertaining area as they are not easily damaged and therefore you can enjoy them all year round.

If you are looking to create something more understated and unique, these paving stones can also be used to create stepping stones that wind around your garden or across your natural lawn, creating a cottage-like feel. One of the biggest benefits of using individual stepping stones is that you can easily colour-coordinate or match with your patio to create a more cohesive look.

We think Porcelain Paving is becoming the favourite garden feature, often chosen due to their durability and stability. These Paving slabs are a great option if you want a garden surface that will stand the test of time even in areas with heavy foot traffic. They can resist and cope with extreme weather and will look shiny and new for many years to come.

To conclude, Porcelain Paving is very easy to maintain and take care of, making it ideal for those who want a nice garden but want to spend time constantly working on it. With that being said, we do think it's best practice to go around the paved area every once in a while giving it a good sweep and wiping off any dirt, fallen pieces of twigs, etc. If you want to take that a step further, jetwashing the area a few times a year wouldn't hurt either.

What is the Difference Between Porcelain and Sandstone?
When selecting paving materials for your outdoor spaces, Porcelain and Sandstone offer distinct qualities suited to different preferences and requirements.

Porcelain Paving

Porcelain is a manufactured material designed to replicate the aesthetic of natural stone while delivering superior durability and minimal maintenance. Its production involves vitrification, where pure clays and minerals like quartz are heated to temperatures exceeding 1200°C. This process results in:

Durability: Porcelain slabs are exceptionally strong, resisting scratches, stains, and wear over time.

Non-Porous Surface: Being waterproof and resistant to mold, moss, and frost makes Porcelain ideal for wet climates or areas around pools.

Minimal Maintenance: Unlike natural stone, Porcelain retains its texture and color without sealing, requiring only basic cleaning.

Safety: With an R11 skid rating, Porcelain provides excellent grip even in wet conditions, ensuring safety in high-traffic or family-friendly areas.

Modern Aesthetic: Its refined, sleek appearance works well in contemporary garden designs.

Sandstone Paving

Sandstone, a natural material sourced from quarries (primarily in India), exudes a traditional, rustic charm. Its distinctive riven texture and natural variations make it a popular choice for homeowners seeking a timeless appeal.

Eco-Friendly: Sandstone’s porous nature allows rainwater absorption, aiding in natural drainage and potentially reducing flood risk.

Natural Aging: Over time, Sandstone develops a weathered patina, appealing to those who enjoy a vintage or aged aesthetic.

Maintenance: Regular sealing is needed to preserve its colors and protect against weathering. Without sealing, its hues gradually fade to softer, lighter tones.

Traditional Look: Sandstone’s textured finish and natural variations add warmth and character to outdoor spaces.

Choosing the Right Option
Your decision should align with your aesthetic goals, maintenance preferences, and environmental considerations:

Opt for Porcelain Paving for a modern, sleek look with minimal maintenance and long-term durability.
Choose Sandstone Paving for a traditional, natural vibe with environmental benefits and a rustic charm.
Both materials bring unique advantages, allowing you to tailor your choice to your lifestyle and outdoor needs.

What Do I Need to Lay Porcelain?

You'll also need a joining compound, such as EasyJoint to fill the gaps between your Porcelain Slabs. We'd also recommend adding Porcelain Primer to the back of the slabs to ensure it stays put for years!

How Many Square Meters Shall I Buy?

If you times the Width by the Length of your new patio, you'll get the Square Meterage needed. We'd always recommend adding 10% for wastage and cuts.

How Much Will Delivery Cost?

It depends on where you are!

Delivery is calculated once you go through to your basket.
