Composite Decking, Cladding & Fencing, Explained

What is Wessex Verde composite made of?

Each board is made from 55% recycled hardwood, 35% recycled plastics and 10% performance additives. The result is a wood-effect board that will not rot, warp or splinter, and an eco-conscious alternative to felling new timber.

Does composite decking fade in the sun?

The Verde range is engineered with UV-resistant capping to protect against colour fade, so your deck keeps its finish season after season. Unlike timber, it never needs sanding, staining or sealing to stay looking fresh.

How many clips do I need per decking board?

Allow 12 starter clips and 12 T-clips for every decking board, each supplied with a screw. Using the correct clips is also a condition of the 10-year manufacturer guarantee, so it pays to order them alongside your boards.

Can composite fencing boards fit my existing concrete posts?

Yes. Using our aluminium channels for concrete posts, Verde fencing boards slot into existing posts, which makes upgrading a tired timber fence quick and cost-effective. For new builds, aluminium and composite fence posts are available.

What is the difference between Traditional and Slatted SG cladding?

Traditional cladding is a 145mm wood-grain board with a classic finish, while Slatted SG is a wider 219mm board with a contemporary slatted profile that can be fitted vertically or horizontally. Both work indoors and out.

Can composite cladding be used inside the house?

Absolutely. Both cladding ranges are popular for interior feature walls, hallways and even ceilings, letting you carry the same finish from your living space out into the garden for a coordinated look.

Is composite decking slippery when wet?

The boards have a deeply embossed woodgrain texture that provides better grip than smooth, worn timber. As with any surface, keep the deck clear of leaves and algae for the best footing through winter.

Can I see the range before I buy?

Yes, the Wessex Verde range is on display at our Christchurch Showroom, and boards can be collected from our Ferndown, Bournemouth and Dorchester depots. Order online per board for local delivery and click and collect.
