The VubaRend 1kg Pouch is a single-component polyurethane resin, specially formulated for easy and accurate mixing with decorative aggregates in vertical applications. It can also be used effectively as a tack coat prior to applying aggregates. Designed for convenience and control, this 1kg pouch is perfectly measured to mix with 10kg of aggregates, ensuring a consistent and smooth application.

Suitable for aggregates up to 6mm in size, VubaRend provides a durable, long-lasting finish, making it ideal for enhancing the appearance and strength of vertical surfaces.

VubaRend Application Guide

Apply the Tack Coat

- Begin by spreading a tack coat over your prepared surface. Use a trowel—1kg covers approximately 1.6m².
- Create texture using a serrated squeegee or the edge of your trowel to promote strong adhesion.
- Avoid over-applying the tack coat, as this can reduce bond strength.

Mix the VubaRend Blend

- Combine 1kg of VubaRend with 10kg of aggregate.
- You can use a 1–5mm blend or stick with 1–3mm aggregate, depending on your desired texture.
- Mix thoroughly until all aggregate is evenly coated.

Apply the Mixture

- Starting from the base of the wall, press the mixture firmly onto the surface.
- Ensure even coverage, maintaining a consistent application depth: 6–10mm is typical
- Shallower depth is needed with 1–3mm blends
- Smooth and refine the surface to your preferred finish.

PRIMING GUIDELINES

Tack Coat Application

VubaRend serves as both the tack coat and the binder. Apply to vertical surfaces using a scraper or trowel at a rate of 600–650g per m².
A 1kg pouch covers approximately 1.6m² when used as a tack coat.

For Porous Surfaces

On highly absorbent substrates, apply a thin initial coat and allow it to soak in fully. Once absorbed, apply the standard tack coat on top to ensure proper adhesion.

For Smooth Surfaces or Enhanced Grip

To improve adhesion on smooth or challenging vertical surfaces:

Apply Vubaprime EP-TC (a thickened epoxy primer) directly to the surface.

While wet, broadcast Vuba Grip Quartz (1–1.4mm) at approximately 65% coverage.

Allow the surface to cure overnight.

Once cured, apply the tack coat as normal.
This creates a profiled texture that improves grip and bonding for the VubaRend application.

REPAIRING

You can pre-fill any uneven or damaged areas using the VubaRend mix.

Apply in deeper sections to “base out” and level the surface.

Ensure the final layer remains within a total depth of 10mm.

Always apply a tack coat before applying VubaRend, even for repairs.

VubaRend and Aggregate

VubaRend is available in 1kg pouches. The correct ratio of VubaRend to aggregate is between 8% to 10%, depending upon the aggregate size. Our 1kg pouch is a “catch all” weight for 10kg of aggregates. We recommend mixing in batches of circa 10kg of aggregate and the 1kg pouch of VubaRend. Mix using a drill and paddle until all the resin is fully dispersed throughout the aggregate.
