Azpects EASYGrout, Grafito

The Stone Zone are one of the South's largest garden paving suppliers. For this reason, we offer a wide range of paving grout for Sandstone Paving, Porcelain Paving and more!

Azpects are a renowned brand across the UK that produce high quality landscape and building maintenance and installation products for both DIYers and professionals.

If you're looking for a superior strength paving grout, look no further than EASYGrout; this cementitious is unlike traditional floor tiling grouts in the sense that it readily mixes with water, producing a highly flowable, slurry-like joint filling and grouting mortar.

This high quality grout was purposefully created with strength and resilience in mind. Porcelain Paving is a very popular product due to its manufactured strength and durability; Porcelain Paving patios, if laid properly, will last a lifetime, maintaining it's strength and colour. Azpects have created a jointing grout to match this.

EASYGrout is so strong that it can be used for areas of paving that undergo daily traffic, such as driveways, and areas where people continuously walk across it, like public pathways and commercial landscapes.

Available in four popular colours, including light grey, dark grey, beige and white, this is suitable for grouting joints internally and externally around porcelain tiling and paving slabs, filling joints from 5mm up to 25mm wide with a minimum joint depth of 20mm.

EASYGrout Grafito is a dark grey coloured grout that is very smooth looking and perfect for people looking to lay their paving with a monochrome look. Azpects EASYGrout differs to Azpects Select as the particles are much larger and can vary in colour.

Azpects EASYGrout Coverage Guide
The coverage of EASYGrout depends primarily upon the tile / slab dimensions and the joint width and depth.

The following table gives a rough guide as to what level of coverage can be achieved with 15kg of EASYGrout when used with the tile and joint dimension shown below:

Length mm Width mm Depth mm Joint width mm Area covered per 15kg
300 300 20 6 9.3
300 400 25 10 5.1
600 600 20 5 21.75
450 450 25 10 6.75
How to use Azpects EASYGrout
Like its name, Azpects EASYGrout is pretty easy to use, there are clear instructions outlined on the tub itself, with a full list of equipment you'll need. If you're an experienced DIYer then you should be able to complete this yourself, as opposed to hiring a professional Landscaper. It is sometimes easier when there are two of you though, as it's a very hands-on job.

Step 1

Using an electric paddle to ensure the mixture is well-mixed, add clean, cold water to the first sachet of powder. Mix this together slowly until the mixture becomes very smooth and lump-free. It's important not to over-mix the mortar which can create air bubbles.

Step 2

Soak your porcelain or ceramic tiles until they are wet but not enough so there is standing water. Once you've done this, you can start pouring your mortar over the joints, working in small areas at a time.

Step 3

Start spreading the EASYGrout into the joints using a squeegee. Try and work as fast as you can, and get a friend to help you if possible. Ensure that the joints are all as evenly filled as each, it should reach just below the level of the paving surface. Avoid too much residue where you can.

Step 4

Ensure your paving is as clean as possible by wiping away the residue with a clean, damp sponge. This part is really important so spend as much time as you can on it. We would then recommend going over the tiles with another clean, damp cloth so they are nice and clean.

Step 5

Finally, once the grout had set (it usually takes around 1-2 hours), you can wipe down any further residue with a wet, damp cloth. For any stubborn areas of residue, use Azpects Grout Residue Remover.

PLEASE NOTE

It is not suitable for use on vertical surfaces. It is designed specifically for ceramic and porcelain tiles and is not recommended for use on natural stone. Natural stone and porous materials are particularly at risk from permanent discolouration.

Why Use Azpects Grouting?

EASYJoint paving grout or jointing compound is a very straightforward, effective and visually appealing way to fill joints between paving, whether it is natural stone paving (such as Sandstone or Limestone) or Porcelain Paving. It is appropriate for all types of garden paving slabs provided there is a gap of at least 3mm wide minimum. We would recommend 5mm for the optimal joint, with a depth of 25mm (narrow joint compound).

As stated, the EASYJoint is easy to use – simply soak the garden pavers with water before commencing and then simultaneously sweep the jointing compound into the joints, letting the water take the strain. It can even be done by those who may not have a huge amount of DIY experience.

How to Use EasyJoint (Natural Paving)

As we have mentioned above, it is easy to use EasyJoint to add grouting to your paving. We have created a small and straightforward guide to help you start, especially if this is your first time using this product.

Step 1 – First you need to assess your paved area and measure to ensure that the joints are at least 3mm wide minimum, we recommend 5mm, and 20mm deep.

Step 2 – If your paving is made of natural stone, such as Sandstone and Limestone, then you need to make sure you soak the area before you begin. A hose pipe will do the job, or a watering can.

Step 3 – Once the paving is thoroughly damp, pour out the EasyJoint onto the paving.

Step 4 – Add water to the grout to create a slurry.

Step 5 – As you are watering the compound, start sweeping it into the joints. Be quick when doing this because you don’t want the compound to dry out. We suggest you work with a 2nd person so one person can do the sweeping while the other is on water-pouring duty.

Step 6 – Don’t be shy on the Easy Joint, if you have used up all the product, pour more onto the paving and start all over again and ensure that all gaps are filled. Be diligent if you are doing this project when the weather is warm because that would lead to the compound drying more quickly.

Step 7 – Once all the gaps have been filled. Go over the paving surface with another spray of water to wash away any grout residue, not only will this make the entire area look clean, but it also helps to compress the compound further.

Step 8 – Finally, use a pointing tool to smooth over the jointing and give it a professional look.

Is EasyJoint Suitable For DIY Use?

Yes. EasyJoint is designed to be quick and easy to apply, making it a popular choice for homeowners and trade professionals alike. It can be applied while the paving is wet and does not require specialist pointing equipment, helping to simplify the installation process.

What Are The Benefits Of EasyJoint?

EasyJoint offers a number of advantages, including:

  • Ready-to-use formula
  • Fast and simple application
  • Suitable for a wide range of paving types
  • Weather-resistant finish
  • Long-lasting performance
  • Available in a range of colours

It is commonly used for patios, pathways, courtyards and other outdoor landscaping projects.

What Do I Need to Lay Porcelain?

You'll also need a joining compound, such as EasyJoint to fill the gaps between your Porcelain Slabs. We'd also recommend adding Porcelain Primer to the back of the slabs to ensure it stays put for years!

How Much Shall I Buy?

As a guide, a 12.5kg tub can typically cover between approximately 8m² and 20m² depending on the dimensions of the paving joints. If you're unsure how much you'll need, our team can help calculate the correct quantity for your project.

How Much Will Delivery Cost?
