Quick Guide - How Much Soil Do I Need?

The easiest way to work it out is to measure the length and width of your area, then decide how deep the soil or mulch needs to be.

Typical depths

• New lawns / turf prep: 100–150mm

• Planting beds: 200–300mm

• Raised beds: around 300mm

• Mulch / bark: 50–75mm

Quick guide

1 bulk bag (approx. 1m³) covers:

• 20m² at 50mm depth

• 10m² at 100mm depth

• 6–7m² at 150mm depth

We usually recommend ordering around 10% extra to allow for settling and levelling.
