What is the difference between walling and cladding?
Walling pieces are solid stone blocks used to build free-standing garden walls, borders and raised features. Cladding is a slim decorative facing fixed to an existing wall, giving you the look of stone without building anything structural.
Should I choose natural stone or porcelain cladding?
Natural stone walling offers authentic variation and weathers with character, while porcelain cladding is non-porous, colour-fast and needs virtually no maintenance. Porcelain suits crisp modern designs; natural stone suits rustic and traditional schemes.
What is Ledger Stone cladding?
Ledger Stone is a composite made from concrete, natural stone and iron-oxide pigments, moulded to mimic stacked natural stone. As featured on DIY SOS, it delivers a striking textured finish that sits somewhere between natural walling and porcelain cladding.
Can I install cladding myself?
Confident DIYers can. The panels are lightweight and fix to a clean, sound wall with tile adhesive, applied at a 45-degree angle for full coverage, with butt joints and no grout needed. For large or high walls we recommend professional installation.
Can cladding be used indoors?
Yes, cladding is hugely popular for interior feature walls, fireplaces and hallways. The same panels work inside and out, so you can carry one finish through your whole scheme.
How much cladding will I need?
Measure the height and width of your wall to get the area in square metres, then check the pack coverage on the product page; Sienna packs of 8 pieces cover 0.72 square metres, for example. Unused, resalable packs can be returned within 28 days.
Can I buy walling by the piece?
Yes, stone walling is available per individual piece or in 5 square metre quantities, so small repairs and full garden walls are equally easy to order.
