VUBA Easihold 3L for Your Garden
Easihold is a gravel binder specifically formulated to securely hold together stones ranging from 4-20mm in size. For optimal results, apply Easihold and let it dry for 72 hours in warm, dry weather conditions (5°C or higher). For areas with foot traffic, we recommend using stones with a 4-10mm diameter to achieve the strongest bond.
Ready-to-use and more affordable than hiring a gardener, Easihold is the perfect stone binder for decorative flower beds, tree surrounds, stepping stones, between pavers, and even for use with mulch and bark!
Easihold is environmentally friendly and safe for pets and children, ensuring no harm if they come into contact with the treated gravel.
Easihold is ideal for both new and existing stones. Before application, ensure that any dirt and silt deposits are washed off. Additionally, make sure the weather conditions will be favourable for the 48 hours following the application.
How to Apply VUBA Easihold 3L
Before Application:
- Prepare the Subbase: Ensure the subbase is free-draining beneath the rocks or mulch.
- Clean the Surface: Make sure the rocks are clean and dry before applying Easihold.
- Protect Surrounding Surfaces: Cover nearby surfaces to guard against spills.
- Wear Gloves: Use gloves for personal protection.
- Check the Weather Forecast: Ensure 72 hours of dry weather before and after application.
There are 3 ways we recommend you apply the Easihold, all very simple and can be achieved even by the newest gardener.
The Pour-On Method:
The Pour-On method is the easiest way to apply Easihold. Simply use a watering can to pour it on. We recommend using up to 1 litre (33.81 oz) per 1.2m² (12.92 sq. ft), which equates to 0.8 litres (27.05 oz) per 1m² (10.76 sq. ft).
The Spray-On Method:
Spraying is a more efficient method as it allows the Easihold to cover more area, but it requires an airless sprayer. We recommend using up to 1 litre (33.81 oz) per 2.8m² (30.14 sq. ft).
The Mix-In Method:
The mixing technique provides the strongest results by ensuring all stones are evenly coated with Easihold. Although this method requires a bit more effort, it is highly effective. We recommend using 0.8 litres (27.05 oz) of Easihold for each 55 lbs bag of stones.
Please Note: Not all stones are suitable for Easihold application. Stones with a diameter between 4mm (0.16") and 10mm (0.39") are ideal, although stones up to 15mm (0.59") can also be effective if they are angular and clean. Things to Consider When Using VUBA Easihold 3L
EASIHOLD will not dry at low temperatures, and eventually become diluted by frost, etc. causing it to not dry and bind your stones correctly. The temperature needs to be 4 degrees C at a minimum.
High humidity (90%+), rain, dew and frost will all dilute EASIHOLD during the drying phase and the stones will not bond. Requires 48-72 hours of warm, dry conditions. if you are applying the Easihold in an area that gets light foot traffic, you need a Permeable, Compacted Stone Base; for decorative purposes, any base will work.
How to Maintain Area Covered with VUBA Easihold
Drying Instructions:
- Allow to Dry: After application, avoid placing any heavy loads on the surface. Keep the area free from weight or pressure for the first 24 hours.
Long-term Maintenance:
Re-apply if Submerged: If the area remains submerged in water for over 48 hours, a re-application is necessary.
Renew the Top Coating: For areas with foot traffic, re-apply the top coating every 12 months. For decorative use, re-apply every 24 months.
Clean Periodically: Regularly brush or blow away stray stones or mulch to prevent abrasion on the surface.
Why Use A Stone Binder in Your Garden
Using a stone binder in your garden offers several benefits that can enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of your outdoor space. Here’s why a stone binder is a valuable addition:
1. Stability and Structure
- Prevents Shifting: A stone binder helps keep gravel and other loose stones in place, preventing them from shifting or scattering over time. This maintains the integrity of paths, driveways, and decorative areas.
- Reduces Erosion: It helps to minimize erosion and displacement of stones caused by wind, rain, or foot traffic.
2. Aesthetic Appeal
- Cleaner Look: Stone binders provide a neat, polished appearance by keeping stones uniformly in place and reducing the spread of loose gravel.
- Consistent Design: They help in achieving a more cohesive and professional-looking finish for garden features such as pathways, patios, and borders.
3. Ease of Maintenance
- Reduced Maintenance: With stones held securely in place, there is less need for frequent raking or replacing displaced gravel. This results in lower long-term maintenance efforts.
- Easy Cleaning: Cleaning surfaces is easier as the stones are less likely to shift or spread, allowing for more straightforward sweeping and washing.
4. Enhanced Safety
- Minimized Slips: By securing stones in place, a stone binder can reduce the risk of loose gravel causing slips and falls, making walkways and paths safer.
- Stable Surface: It provides a stable surface for foot traffic, reducing the chances of stones becoming loose and creating tripping hazards.
5. Environmental Benefits
- Reduced Dust: Stone binders can help reduce dust from loose gravel, which is beneficial for both the environment and indoor air quality.
- Sustainable Option: Many stone binders are eco-friendly and made from recycled materials, contributing to a more sustainable garden practice.
6. Versatility
- Adaptable Use: Stone binders can be used in various garden settings, including decorative beds, around tree bases, in pathways, and between pavers. They work well with different types of stones and gravel.
Overall, using a stone binder improves the durability, appearance, and functionality of your garden surfaces, making it a worthwhile investment for maintaining a beautiful and practical outdoor space.
