Quartz White Porcelain Cobble Setts are ethereal pearly-white porcelain setts, consisting of an off-white colour, which will be lovely in both daytime and night-time. As you can tell from the name, the Quartz White cobbles are heavily inspired by beautiful quartz crystals, which enables you to create a luxurious and contemporary garden, no matter the season. White Cobble Setts are an excellent option for your garden and outdoor space and can be utilised as an innovative way to create garden borders surrounding the area. We think our Quartz White will pair perfectly with the Sienna™ Quartz White Porcelain Paving. Cobble Setts are extremely versatile and there are a variety of ways you can design them throughout your garden. They are great because you can buy them as single pieces and are easy to install. We have collated a list of garden design ideas that use cobble setts effectively. Many homeowners and garden lovers have installed Cobble Setts by creating a border in their new garden or adding them to jazz up their old garden. It doesn't matter whether you already have Porcelain or Natural Stone Paving slabs laid, the Sienna™ Quartz White Porcelain Cobble Setts will instantly brighten up your garden patio and add a more professional and modern look, plus add extra protection to your paving as well. Alongside being used as patio borders, Cobble Setts will also pair well with a range of green garden features such as Artificial Grass or Turf Grass. It is a popular garden design idea to add borders and divisions across your garden to separate different features. if you have a smaller garden and need some design ideas, Cobble Setts are an easy way to elevate the area. If you have a small garden patio that you want to renovate, you can install these white Porcelain Cobble Setts in place of porcelain paving slabs. You have a few more design options to play around with, with cobbles, giving you much more freedom and flexibility due to their smaller size. Furthermore, you can also create beautiful and functional walkways leading to your patio area for a more whimsical look. If you are thinking about installing our Porcelain Cobble Setts, for the majority of cases, we would strongly suggest hiring a professional Landscaper. With that being said, Cobble Setts are pretty simple to install for DIY-ers with previous experience, moreover, your life is made easier because the Setts are not heavy to handle. Taking all that into consideration, if you think you have the ability and are up to the challenge and have all the necessary equipment, you may be able to take on this project by yourself. The first step is to measure the area where you have planned to install your Cobble Setts. You cannot miss this step because having the correct measurement will enable you to accurately calculate how many Cobble Sett pieces you'll need to finish your project- it is good practice to add +10% extra setts just as a contingency. After purchasing your cobble setts, mark out the area where you want to lay them down. Step two is to use your Landscaping Shovel, start by digging down the desired area and make sure to dig enough to cover at least 200mm in depth. It's vital that you remove any obstacles such as rocks and weeds so you have a clean, uninterrupted surface to work with. Get your hands on a Spirit Level, which is a handy tool to ensure that anything you are installing is in a straight line. After the area has been dug out and is as level as you can make it, the third step is to add a 100mm layer of MOT Type 1. Begin by pouring in 50mm, then using your compacting plate to carefully push the material down. Once that's done, you can go ahead and place a further 50mm of MOT aggregates, and repeat the same process as before. Once you have completed pouring out the sub-base, step four is to make your mortar mix. This a straightforward process, all you need to do is mix three parts of Sand with one part of Cement and one part of water. This amalgamation needs to have the texture of a workable paste that you can place your Cobble Setts on. Step five is to spread the mortar mixture generously across your MOT sub-base, take care when doing this and be careful to ensure there is a slight angle to the mortar mix bed, it is beneficial to do this because then the paving stones can be installed at an angle which will allow water can flow down it. Now for the fun part. For step six you can finally start placing your Cobble Setts. Use a Rubber Mallet to gently tap the Cobble Setts into place and make sure they are securely embedded in, we advise you to leave between 8mm - 15mm gap between the stones. The seventh step is to add jointing to the Cobble Setts. There are a variety of ways you can go forward with this. At Stone Zone, we supply the world-renowned Azpects Easy Joint which is perfect for this project; you can also choose the new Easy Joint Select range. If you don't want to go down that route, you can always make an extra mortar mix and use this as a more economical option to join your Cobble Setts together. The only setback with this option is that it will be the one basic colour, whereas the EasyJoint options come in a range of colours to choose from so you can match with the colour of the setts. Sample setts are available in-store, please ask a customer advisor. Read More...
