The Green Granite is an adaptable range of garden stones. The dark green contrasts well with light-coloured furniture, and at the same time, because of the dark shades, they fit perfectly with darker more modern furnishings. Furthermore, when the stones get wet, they get a few shades darker, as if they're black. This deeper and glossier look adds another dimension to your garden. If you don't want to be too heavy-handed with these chippings yet still want some colour around your garden, a great idea would be to use them to create a border around your garden, driveway or by your fencing to add some colouring to the area. These stones are very multifaceted, as we mentioned earlier, they turn into a darker shade when wet, therefore they will look enchanting in and around a pond and even as a border around a water feature. They are an excellent choice if you make a waterfall out of rockery and surround the feature with Green Granite chippings to create a truly wonderful feature piece. A popular feature that can be seen in many gardens recently are ponds that not only make gardens more special but also work to enhance wildlife within your garden. Whether or not your pond has fish in it, you can use the Green Granite Chippings within your pond as they are fish friendly and won't harm them. This is primarily due to the fact these chippings are naturally derived. How to Lay Green Granite Chippings in Your Garden If you want to take on the project of installing Green Granite Chippings around your garden and have some DIY experience under your belt, this will not be a hard job for you, nor will be too expensive. The Stone Zone are proud supplier of decorative stones and therefore also stocks all the tools you will need to complete this project. Read through our little guide below to give you some tips and ideas to get you started. If you have chosen to use the Green Granite Chippings for your garden, either as a feature or a border, we highly advise that you create a sturdy base first. To do so, use Limestone Type 1, also called MOT Type 1, which is a graded, 40mm Limestone. Lay enough of this product to fill up to 50mm in depth. This is not a necessary step for all decorative features but is advised for driveways and paths. Before starting anything, you must determine, where you want your stones and measure them out. Once that has been confirmed, use our Quantity Calculator that will measure out for you, how much of the Green Granite and garden gravel you will need to cover your specified area. We also think that an additional layer of Weed Fabric when you create a garden feature of the border is essential as it will inhibit weeds from spreading through your feature for the foreseeable future and keep your garden looking neat. We stock a wide range of sizes when it comes to Weed Fabric so you have a selection to choose from depending on the size of your feature. And finally, arguably the best thing about these chippings is the fact that they require no maintenance other than to be topped up every year.Read More...
