How to Lay Green Granite in Your Garden

When carrying out any form of Landscaping, we always recommend you hire a professional and experienced Landscaper, as there are always things you may have forgotten to consider!

However, installing decorative stone in your garden is one of the easier landscape projects, so the average DIYer should be fine in completing this task.

Firstly, always measure the area you're looking to cover - you usually need more than you think! And then use our quantity calculator to find out much stone you need.

We generally recommend laying decorative garden stone on a base of Scalpings or Type 1 Limestone to ensure underneath your border or pathway is a stable base that will carry the weight well and last the test of time. It's best to lay this at 50mm depth.

To avoid the pesky weeds coming through your decorative garden feature, use Weed Membrane to prevent these from coming through. You can purchase these in many different sizes and thicknesses. 

Over the years, you'll find that you need to top these borders or features up every now and then, so it's a good practice to buy a few more bags so you know the colours will completely match. 

PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally-sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal their true colour.
