Heritage Quartz Chippings 14mm
If you're looking for a truly premium and unique decorative garden stone, look no further than our new Heritage Quartz Chippings! What makes these decorative chippings stand out from the rest is the fact that it's derived from natural quartz. Boasting a lovely range of bush, orange, and brick-brown colours, not only do these natural stones look the part, but they are also durable and long-lasting.
As a result of these chippings being made of natural quartz the colour shades within this garden stone range are simply beautiful. The main colour to be seen within this stone is a soft buff colour, and when you look closer at the marble stones in particular, you'll see their natural, stunning streaks throughout. Rusty red shades and oranges also feature in these chippings to give a really rustic effect.
Classed as angular chippings, these stones are the perfect shape and size for paths and driveways due to 'locking' in place when weight is put on them.

Heritage Quartz Chippings for your Path or Driveway
Set your house apart from the rest with these colourful driveway chippings! Decorative stones are becoming increasingly popular for use on a drive for many reasons. One reason is that it makes your driveway completely customisable; we have so many chippings to choose from, and you can make it completely your own. Other reasons for opting for decorative aggregates are that it is cost-effective, low maintenance and fairly easy to lay down in comparison to other options such as Block Paving.
Heritage Chippings lock together when they are driven on or stepped on, which makes them a comfortable option underfoot. They make the perfect option for an area that doesn't necessarily serve a purpose; perhaps as a path around your house, or as an area around your shed.

How to Lay Heritage Quartz Chippings in Your Garden
If you are now thinking of buying Heritage Quartz Chippings to create a decorative garden feature, or maybe as a drive or pathway, this guide will give you all the hints and tips you need. As mentioned before, it's easier than you might think!
If you want to take the professional approach which will ensure you have a stable base for your chippings, use Limestone Type 1, also referred to as MOT Type 1, which is a graded, 40mm Limestone. This has a clay-like consistency that will also act as a cushion under your stones.
Before you buy your base layer and chippings, use a tape measure so you have an indication of the area you're looking to cover; you can then use our Quantity Calculator to work out how much stone you'll need. We would suggest having a base of 50mm.
Dig out the desired area with a depth between 50mm - 150mm, ensuring this includes 50mm for your MOT Type 1 base and 50mm for your Grey Chippings.
Add your 40mm Limestone Type 1 to your dug-out area and ensure a minimum of 50mm is laid. Not only will this provide a durable base, but it will also aid drainage.
We have many different weed-prevention options, but the most effective is using a strong Weed Fabric to eliminate the worry of weeds ruining your feature/driveway; these come in multiple sizes for you to choose from.
Once the fabric has been laid, you can start putting your Quartz Chippings down! Remember to add this to at least a 50mm depth.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally-sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal their true colour.
