How to Make a Garden Pond

Making a garden pond is actually easier than you think! You can simply buy a plastic pond from your local garden centre, and go from there. Planning where you want to put your pond is probably the most crucial step though, as you'll want to pick a space in your garden that doesn't get too much sun, but also isn't directly under the tree. 

Once you've decided on where you want to place your pond, you can decide whether you want to dig a hole in the ground and have it ground level, or you can see how it would look as a raised pond, and even use Sleepers to retain it.

Decorating your garden pond is the most exciting part of the process! Start with smaller stones such as Slate stones, adding some larger Paddlestones and then finish it off with a few larger rocks such as Plum Slate Rockery. There are also plants you can get to go under water in your pond and to sit on top of the water.
