10mm Heritage Quartz Chippings
Want to create a garden that is completely exceptional and one-of-a-kind? The 10mm Heritage Quartz Chippings will help you achieve that look perfectly. What makes these chippings a great choice within our range of Decorative Stones is the fact that they contain a collection of natural stones in beautiful, buff colours.
These Quartz, garden stones consist of gentle, beige and buff shades, with the occasional orange colour. If you want to take a closer inspection of these quartz stones, you will be able to see the natural streaks and lines throughout the stones, making them that much more unique.
These decorative chippings will measure approximately 6-10mm in size and are the smallest option in the range. Although the Heritage Quartz Chippings are in an angular shape, we do not recommend using the 10mm ones for your driveway or pathway as they are too small and therefore unable to create a stable base.
14mm Heritage Quartz Chippings are also available in buy.

How to Lay Heritage Quartz Chippings in Your Garden
Integrating Heritage Quartz stones into your garden is an easy task for the most part so a great one to get stuck into if you're an aspiring gardener or landscaper! Read some of our tips below on how to correctly install these chipping stones.
The first step is always to measure out the space you're filling using a tape measure, considering where and how big the space where your chippings will be laid is. After you get a good idea of how big the area is, you can go to our website and use the Quantity Calculator that will work out, for you, how much base layer and Heritage Chippings you will need add a deoth of your choosing. As a rule of thumb, we recommend that you have a base of 50mm.
As used by both professionals and long-time DIY-ers, we would strongly suggest that you use Limestone Type 1, also referred to as MOT Type 1, which is a graded, 40mm Limestone to create your base. This has a soft yet thick, not dissimilar to clay consistency which will be a cushion-like base layer for your stones to lay on and to create a stable surface overall.
Once your products have been delivered, you can now dig out your marked area with a depth between 50mm - 150mm, making sure that space accounts for 50mm of your MOT Type 1 base and 50mm for your Heritage Chippings.
Add your 40mm Limestone Type 1 to the space you dug out and please take care and make sure a minimum of 50mm is laid. Not only will this provide a strong and stable base, but it will also aid drainage.
There are many ways to prevent your garden from getting weeds, but the most effective and popular method is to use a strong Weed Fabric, to keep them from overtaking your garden. You can find an excellent range of Weed Fabric at Stone Zone with a wide selection of sizes, so you can purchase the one that's most appropriate for your garden.
Once you have installed the Fabric securely, you can start dropping in your Heritage Quartz Chippings! Please keep in mind that you might want to spray them clean with a hose pipe in case they have arrived dusty.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally-sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal they’re true colour.
