What You'll Need
- Type 1 Limestone (or a similar Aggregate as a sub-base)
- Quality Rake
- Building Sand
- Cement
- Jointing Compound
- Rubber Mallet
✔ Prepare the Area – Clear to 150mm depth, remove weeds & level the ground.
✔ Lay the Sub-Base – Use Type 1 Limestone (50mm depth) for stability.
✔ Compact (Optional) – A wacker plate ensures a solid foundation.
✔ Mix Cement – Spread slurry-like mix in small sections.
✔ Lay Setts – Position with 20mm gaps, tapping gently with a rubber mallet.
✔ Apply Grout – Fill gaps evenly & smooth out for a polished finish.
✔ Let it Set – Allow 6+ hours to cure. Cover if rain is expected!
