When it's time to seal the cobble setts, you have to carefully look at where they are being laid first. For a majority of the time sealing is not really needed and is optional, but, if you are laying where there is a lot of algae, animal droppings and urine - such as underneath trees, they will sustain damage. Berries that grow on trees or with a BBQ nearby are also not good to keep near cobbles as they will have an impact on the texture and colour of the stones.
