To maintain the original colour of your paving for as long as possible, we recommend using Azpects Easy Seal. It's an excellent investment to purchase the sealant alongside your paving. As we've mentioned before, weathering will naturally cause your paving to fade to lighter shades over time, which can add character to your outdoor space. This colour change occurs due to the natural formation process of the stones.

For optimal upkeep, jet wash your paving every six months. This practice will effectively remove any accumulated dirt and debris, keeping your paving looking fresh and clean.

What is the Difference Between Limestone and Sandstone Paving?

Limestone and Sandstone paving share several similarities, the most notable being that both are naturally derived from stone quarries in India.

When comparing the two, Limestone is typically the more economical option. However, it does require regular maintenance to keep it in its best condition.

It's important to note that Limestone is more brittle than Sandstone. While Limestone is cost-effective, its fragility is a factor to consider. Despite this, both Limestone and Sandstone offer the same level of durability once installed.

Over time, Limestone will naturally wear and change colour, even if a sealer is used. This means some maintenance is necessary to preserve its original appearance. In contrast, maintaining Sandstone paving is generally simpler.

Our Sandstone Paving is also available in sawn options, with our Limestone Paving being available in Square Edge. This allowed our customers to purchase the paving that suits their needs exactly. Sealing is a must for Sandstone Paving in order to maintain the original colour. But Sandstone Paving does not require any such thing.

What is the Difference Between Limestone and Porcelain Paving?

There are notable differences between Limestone and Porcelain Paving. The primary distinction is that Limestone is a naturally occurring material, whereas Porcelain is man-made. This manufacturing process allows Porcelain to be produced in a wide range of colours and finishes.

For a sophisticated and modern look, Porcelain Paving is the ideal choice. Conversely, if you prefer a minimalist and aged appearance, Limestone Paving is more suitable.

Limestone naturally wears over time, with its surface texture and colour gradually fading. In contrast, Porcelain Paving maintains its original colour and finish for much longer due to its manufactured nature.

It's important to remember that Limestone requires jet washing twice a year to maintain its appearance, while Porcelain Paving only needs a simple hose down twice a year to remove dirt and debris, making Porcelain the lower-maintenance option.
