Maintaining Block Paving
Block Paving is fairly easy to take care of. We recommend brushing the area on a regular basis to keep away any dirt and debris.
If you start noticing a rise in algae growth, we think it's best to clean the entire area thoroughly, and if there are any difficult areas we think the ever-popular Azpects Easy Care Masonry Cleaner is the perfect solution to clear away the remaining algae.
We highly recommend that you stay away from jetwashing other than in areas that have a lot of old dirt that needs extra effort to clean away. You do not need to do this on a regular basis. twice a year if you really need to. Only twice because jetwashing frequently will negatively impact the strength of the jointing.
Considering the fact that maintaining Block Paving is fairly uncomplicated, it's an appropriate choice for a driveway or garden if you don't want to spend your free time maintaining your patio. If you have a busy lifestyle or don't want to prioritise upkeeping your outdoor area then you will be settled once you have laid your Block Paving down.
Difference Between Block Paving and Cobble Setts
The biggest difference between Block Paving and Cobble Setts is that Block Paving is 50mm thick and therefore can be used for walkways and driveways which is not possible with Cobble Setts that are much thinner and so cannot withstand the weight and too much traffic. As a result of their more delicate nature, cobble setts are best utilised as borders and stepping stones and decoration rather than a heavy-duty functional paving method.
