Staffordshire Pink 20mm
The Staffordshire Pink 20mm is one of the most colourful decorative stones and for that reason is a much-loved product. The Staffordshire Pink is a low-cost and adaptable method of jazzing up your garden, driveway or borders. Due to such pleasant colours, they are a great choice to add some colouring to your surroundings.
As mentioned above, the Staffordshire Pink, sometimes referred to as 'Cheshire Pink' is derived from Natural Quartzite, and is one of our more colourful ranges of chippings, and as its name suggests it contains pinks, purples and browns and is very aesthetically pleasing. These particular colours ensure that the Staffordshire is a great fit for any type of property, be it a period property, a brick house, or something more modern. The Staffordshire is effective for all types of homes and gardens and will not look out of place.
One aspect that makes the Staffordshire ideal for a family home is the fact that they are fish-friendly and so can be used in small garden ponds without worrying about anything happening to the fish.

Staffordshire Pink for Pathways
A popular method to use Staffordshire Pink is to design a distinctive and attention-grabbing pathway. This will look lovely as a driveway at the front of your property or as a pathway leading up to your garden.
The Stafford 20mm is in a semi-rounded shape which therefore makes them a great option for pathways and driveways. Not only are these providing great functionality, but they will also add pops of colour to your driveway that will compliment your home.
If you want to spruce up your driveway and make it more of a feature piece rather than a bland area, then the Staffordshire is a great option. It is a simple and affordable way to add some decoration to the space. This method is much more cost-effective, especially in comparison to other options, namely Block Paving and Decorative Chippings. And that's not all, the Staffordshire Pink is also great for drainage so that significantly reduces flood risks and also gets rid of any standing water.
Finally, one of our favourite aspects of the Staffordshire Pink is that it does not need any upkeeping. There's very little maintenance required with the Staffordshire Pink, so if you have a busy schedule and little time to spare then these are perfect for you. All that you need to do, is to top them up every few years to ensure that your driveway is even and safe to drive on.
These natural Pink stones are ideal to mix with other garden features to create a succinct look. You may want to consider combining features such as Porcelain or Natural Paving slabs, Wooden Sleepers, Mulch, Fresh Turf or even Artificial Grass. Staffordshire Pink for Gardens
The Staffordshire Pink is a great choice if you want to create an eye-catching feature for your garden without it being overbearing. It is an easy and impressive way to add some decoration to the area that will not require too much effort.
As we have mentioned before, the stones are comprised of pinks, creams and browns, that is guaranteed to add some embellishment and liven up the area. They are also an excellent choice if you are looking to create a bright border around your garden.
If you have a green thumb, you can still use the Staffordshire stones because they will not damage your plants - this in turn will allow you to design beautiful planting areas around your garden if you add them directly onto the beds.
They are also good at taking care of your plants as they can retain moisture and keep them cool during hot weather and equally, they can keep them warm during the colder months.

How to Lay Staffordshire Pink in Your Garden
We are strong proponents of hiring a professional landscaper to complete landscaping projects like these as it ensures that everything is done safely and securely. However, installing Golden Gravel around your front or back garden is not a complicated process and will not be difficult for anyone with prior DIY experience. To help you get started we have created a little guide with some tips:
A stable base is vital when putting down gravel on your driveway or garden, you need a stable base if you want to safely drive onto it. Limestone Type 1 (MOT Type 1), is what we would suggest you use to level the area out. The Limestone Type 1 is a 40mm graded Limestone and is used by Landscapers to create a level base.
The first step is to measure out the area you want the stones to be on. Once that has been determined, you can use our Quality Calculator which will do all the complicated work for you and figure out how much base layer and Staffordshire you need for your allocated space. As a general guide, we think 50mm is the ideal depth for the base.
Get your hands on some Grid Stabilisers, that have been created to cover larger areas that get a lot of traffic, be it people or vehicles. They are also fitting for private roads and love driveways.
Although not vital, we strongly recommend that you also install a layer of Weed Fabric. We advise that you don't skip this step because it helps with preventing weeds from sprouting out through the fabric. Regardless of how big or small your garden is, we have in stock a wide range of sizes so you can pick out the one that's right for your garden.
The Staffordshire Pink is also an excellent choice if you want to use them for garden borders, so you achieve little pops of colour throughout your garden. It's useful and easy you can install them directly on the existing surface, including artificial grass, weed fabric and turf.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally-sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal their true colour.
