Sawn York Grey Paving
Sawn York Grey Paving is a wonderful option of paving slabs. These natural paving stones consist of white coloured sandstone with wood effect brown colours entwined. The contrast of the light brown wood effect with the brightness of the white paving creates a wonderful effect, suitable for both gardens, patios and office entrances.
We calibrate all our natural stones. We do this to ensure the consistency, quality and durability of the paving slabs.
All our natural paving slabs are imported directly from stone quarries in India. Due to this direct communication we are able to guarantee the best quality and prices for our customers.
Because of the nature of these paving stones, colours will be inconsistent and vary in tone and shade. Gradually and over time, these slabs will naturally show signs of wear and changes in colour.

At Stone Zone, we have a sizeable range of Sawn Sandstone Paving slabs, with the Sawn York Grey Sandstone being a strong favourite. This range are most often Sawn cut versions of some of our best-selling Natural Paving slabs. As with all our Natural Stone paving slabs, the Sawn York grey Sandstone pavers have also been cultivated from Indian stone quarries. During this process, the Sandstone pieces are cut off sedimentary stone formations that have been developing for many decades. The Sawn paving range is then put through some additional treatments to ensure that the colours are as vivid as possible. These extra steps also ensure that they have a superior finish and texture, enabling you to create your ideal garden and outdoor space. York Grey Sandstone is a sawn Sandone, which means that the edges of the paving slabs have been machine-cut to create smooth, crisp edges, so when you lay these slabs the lining will be completely straight and uniform. Alongside cutting the edges, the top and bottom of the slabs are also sawn, guaranteeing a streamlined finish, looking more modern and professional when compared to natural Sandstone and Limestone paving slabs that have a more riven and rustic surface. These Sawn Sandstone slabs have also been honed. Honing means they have been polished even further to make the top surface as smooth as possible. This process results in the natural colours being more prominent and the stones looking polished. Furthermore, this process also results in the Sandsstone slabs looking even brighter when wet. There are no additional benefits when it comes to hardiness and longevity, as this will be the same as the rest of our Sandstone paving range. It simply will look more impressive and be much easier to install in your garden with the perfectly cut, regimented lines. Did you know? We also supply a manufactured, Porcelain Paving version of our popular Sawn York Grey Paving. This is more cost-effective and has much less maintenance involved! Click here to view our 'Natural' York Stone Porcelain Paving. Charlie Says: We recommend laying our sawn paving slabs on a full mortar bed and slurrying the back of the stone as you would with porcelain paving. The Tallow will need sealing as soon as it's laid to ensure the colour is looking its best. We also suggest laying this paving in a sunny spot of the garden that isn't obstructed by trees. After your paving has been sealed - we recommend you use Azpects Easy Seal - you can rest assured that you are giving your paving the best chance to retain its colour for as long as possible. To ensure that your patio is as long-lasting and unblemished as possible we strongly suggest that you jet wash your paving twice a year. This will keep your paving free of any accumulated dirt and debris. Sandstone and Porcelain Paving are vastly different materials. As Sandstone is formed naturally in stone quarries, you are often restricted to the colours and textures, whereas with Porcelain Paving which is manufactured, you have a much larger variety of colours and finishes. If your style is more rustic and classic we suggest you choose the Sawn York Paving. However, if you are looking for a chicer and more contemporary look for your home, we think Porcelain Paving would suit you best. Please keep in mind that as time passes, the weather will contribute to changes occurring on the paving, namely the colouring and the texture of the surface. if you would rather have paving that is more capable of keeping its colour for a longer period of time, then Porcelain paving is the best option. Or if you want their Porcelation alternative, check out the 'Natural' Rainbow Porcelain Paving, 'Natural' Golden Fossil Porcelain Paving and the 'Natural' Kandla Grey Porcelain Paving. Read More...
