Azpects Easy Joint, Stone Grey
EASYJoint is a pioneer in the landscaping industry, by developing the original sweep-in jointing Compound. EASYJoint is still the best truly "All Weather Paving Joint Compound" available and produced in the UK. Over the years it has been proven that the EasyJoint is a favourite amongst homeowners and landscapers, and we think it's because of its affordability and ease of use.
Along with Stone Grey, the EasyJoint is available in a number of other colours, therefore you can use the one that suits your paving the best. You can get the EasyJoint in Mushroom, Buff Sand and Basalt - a wide range of shades that will match a plethora of paving colours.
EASYJoint grout or jointing compound is a very straightforward, effective and visually appealing way to fill joints between paving, whether it is natural stone (such as Sandstone or Limestone) or Porcelain Paving. It is appropriate for all types of paving material provided there is a gap of at least 3mm wide minimum, we think 5mm is optimal and 25mm deep (narrow joint compound).
As stated in the EASYJoint is easy to use – simply soak the paving with water before commencing and then simultaneously sweep and wash the jointing compound into the joints, letting the water take the strain. It can even be done by those who may not have a ton of DIY experience.
The Stone Grey compound is a light brown colour with spots of black, white a beige. It will be suitable for paving that are in the colours light brown, beige, cream, sand and many more.
How to Use EasyJoint
As we have mentioned above, it is easy to use EasyJoint to add grouting to your paving. We have created a small and straightforward guide to help you start, especially if this is your first time using this product.
Step 1 – First you need to assess your paved area and measure to ensure that the joints are at least 3mm wide minimum, we recommend 5mm, and 20mm deep.
Step 2 – If your paving is made of natural stone, such as Sandstone and Limestone, then you need to make sure you soak the area before you begin. A hose pipe will do the job, or a watering can.
Step 3 – Once the paving is thoroughly damp, pour out the EasyJoint onto the paving.
Step 4 – Add water to the grout to create a slurry.
Step 5 – As you are watering the compound, start sweeping it into the joints. Be quick when doing this because you don’t want the compound to dry out. We suggest you work with a 2nd person so one person can do the sweeping while the other is on water-pouring duty.
Step 6 – Don’t be shy on the Easy Joint, if you have used up all the product, pour more onto the paving and start all over again and ensure that all gaps are filled. Be diligent if you are doing this project when the weather is warm because that would lead to the compound drying more quickly.
Step 7 – Once all the gaps have been filled. Go over the paving surface with another spray of water to wash away any grout residue, not only will this make the entire area look clean, but it also helps to compress the compound further.
Step 8 – Finally, use a pointing tool to smooth over the jointing and give it a professional look.
PLEASE NOTE:
It is not suitable for poorly draining or persistently wet site conditions. It is a natural product that allows water to permeate through. The product when freshly laid will be bright in colour but because of its permeability, it may over time become dirty and change in appearance. Some natural growth of algae and mould can occur, which can generally be easily cleaned away.
The compressive strength of EASYJoint is such that it will adequately take the downward forces exerted by pedestrians & domestic cars but is not designed to form a structural part of the path/driveway. The integrity of the project can only be maintained if the surface material is adequately bedded into the base, which in turn is constructed to an appropriate specification.
