These Indian Sandstone Paving slabs are a great choice no matter where you choose to lay them. There an excellent choice for gardens and patios and they contrast brilliantly with the green of a Turf Grass lawn. They would also look amazing in front gardens, cafe entrances and period properties. Sawn paving slabs also possess a slight shimmer when reflected by the sunlight which will sure to impress all your friends and family. Sawn or Honed Paving Slabs have gone through a couple of additional processes after they have been cut away from larger Sandstones within natural stone quarries. Most of our Sawn Sandstone Paving is the sawn and honed version of traditional, well-known natural stone paving options. Did you know? Sawn Rippon Sandstone is the sawn version of our best-selling Buff Blend Rippon Sandstone! These extra manufacturing processes are purely to enhance the look of the paving stones to really make them a premium, paving product. This process also ensures clean, smooth lines within your garden paving, making it look a little more professional and modern. These extra steps are the reason behind the premium price tag - but will not disappoint! One of the extra processes, after being calibrated to size, is machine-sawing; this is where the product gets it 'sawn' name from. Whilst our range of Sandstone and Limestone Paving slabs are sawn at the edges, this Sawn Sorrel Sandstone has been machine-sawn on all six edges, creating a perfectly smooth surface, as opposed to a traditional, riven surface. The final process is 'honing' or polishing the garden slabs. As you can see from the photos, this garden paving is ultra shiny and smooth, this is a result of the honing process. It enhances the beautiful colours and creates an overall look of luxury that can be enjoyed for years to come. Charlie Says: We advise laying our sawn paving slabs on a full mortar bed and slurrying the back of the stone, which is the same process that is followed with porcelain paving. The Sorrel requires sealing as soon as it's laid to ensure the colour is maintained and looking new. We also suggest laying this paving in a sunny spot of the garden that isn't obstructed by trees. We recommend Azpects Easy Seal for sealing your pavement. By doing this, you can rest assured that the original colour of your paving will keep for as long as possible. To ensure that your paving stays at it's best for the foreseeable future, we suggest you hose or jet wash your paving twice a year, to clear away any accumulated dirt and debris. There are numerous differences between Sandstone and Porcelain Paving. With Sandstone Paving, the stones are naturally formed and therefore naturally vary in colour and have a riven surface, whereas with Porcelain paving is manufactured, and are completely smooth in finish with bespoke colour and pattern options. Porcelain tiles come in a wider range of colours and finishes, giving you plenty more options. When comparing Sawn Sandstone and Porcelain Paving, however, they aren't as many differences, as both paving options will have a shiny, smooth finish that obtains a non-slip, R11 value. Keep in mind that Sandstone Paving will weather naturally as time passes that will change the surface texture and colour. If you want an option that is able to retain it's colour for as long as possible, then you should go with Porcelain Paving, due to them being manufactured, they are much better at keeping their colour looking fresh.Read More...
