Oyster Pebbles for Your Garden
Our Oyster Shingle is usually used within decorative garden features to create a low maintenance focal point that ties the garden theme together.
A decorative garden border makes for a good use of Oyster Pebbles; bordering larger hard landscaping features such as a garden paving patio or garden decking. It also looks great around a soft landscaping feature, like natural or artificial grass.
Due to their larger size, Oyster Shingle is not very comfortable to walk on, so would be unsuitable for use on a driveway or as a path. However, if you're trying to create a natural-looking soakaway area near your drains, Oyster Shingle would be a great choice do to their varying shapes and larger size.
Oyster Gravel in Your Garden Pond
A very popular use of our Oyster Shingle is to place it within a natural pond. Due to the fish-friendly properties of this natural stone, it makes it the perfect addition to surround your pond or even place within your pond to blend it in nicely within your landscape.
As well as considering placing it in your pond, you might also think about putting it within a natural or man-made water feature. The colours of Oyster Shingle really stand out when they're placed under water, so you can admire the grey stones, beige stones and brown stones more.

How to Create a Rockery Water Feature
There's nothing better than listening to the calming sound of gentle, running water in your back garden to create a relaxed, outdoor haven that you can retreat to.
Instead of buying a manmade Water Feature, why not set yourself the challenge of creating one yourself? There's lots of different ways you can create a water feature on a budget - whether you're making a small pond, a little rockery or a cascading water feature - upcycling will be your best friend on this project!
Create a simple pond; if you have an old, plastic laundry basket or even a large, ceramic pot, why not add water to it and create your own, contained pond? You'd need to line the laundry basket with a tight, geo fabric to ensure the water doesn't seep out.
Add large Cobbles to your pond, accompanied with smaller pebbles like Oyster Pebbles to create a natural pond that has many different levels to attract different types of wildlife. There's a huge variety of plants you can buy that will either grow under water or sit on top of your pond that will make it really look the part!
Create a water feature with running water; for a professional-looking water feature that features soothing, running water, use a solar-powered pump within your pond. You can buy them at different intensities so you can opt for the calm, babbling brook or the more powerful surge of water.
If you're looking for a little more vavavoom, why not also consider adding a solar-powered fountain to your water feature or pond? It could be as simple as upcycling an old trough or metal bath and incorporating a fountain, with some decorative stones around the edges.
Water for the Wildlife; maybe you just want a small, contained pot of water filled with beautiful Pebbles or Cobbles that the birds can take a bath in or use to get a drink in the Summer. Simply upcycle an old, metal or plastic planter or even a large garden or kitchen pot for a small, yet effective bird bath where you can enjoy small birds cooling themselves down in the Summer.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally-sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal their true colour.
