Granite Paving creates a stunning addition to any garden space. Granite Stone looks impressive within commercial and domestic settings; working well within hotels and other modern buildings. It looks great when paired with stones such as Black Basalt Chippings for a darker contrast or Polar White Chippings for a lighter look. This paving stone also contains a slight sparkle in natural light which really enhances the silver colours within the natural stone. If you are looking for paving that is darker in colour for a deeper look, you may want to consider the Dusky Grey Granite Paving. Furthermore, if you want a Porcelain alternative to these Granite Grey slabs, you may want to look into the 'Natural' Silver Grey Porcelain Paving. Granite Stone is a natural stone which is evenly textured and tight-grained. The surface of this patio stone has been machine cut with a sawn surface to ensure clean, smooth lines within the joints and a smooth, shiny finish. Cut from crystalline and granular rock, these naturally-quarried paving slabs are well-loved for their hardwearing exterior and dense interior. This makes a great choice for gardens, pathways and commercial settings. Although it has a shiny finish, it is still complete with an R11 non-slip value, making it safe to walk on when wet. Charlie Says: We recommend laying our sawn paving slabs on a full mortar bed and slurrying the back of the stone as you would with porcelain paving. Sealing Granite stones is optional but we would recommend doing this to protect the colour and prevent staining. We also suggest laying this paving in a sunny spot of the garden that isn't obstructed by trees. Once you have sealed your paving with Azpects Easy Seal Stone Sealer & Protector, you will have peace of mind that the beautiful colour of your paving will be maintained. It's best to clean your paving every six months with a hose or jet washer to keep your garden patio clear of any debris and dirt. Granite and Sandstone Paving share some similarities. Both Sandstone and Granite are natural paving stones, so will always vary slightly in colour, the colour will change over time, and they both emit a natural, rustic look. Both Sandstone and Granite Paving slabs are calibrated to 22mm thickness to ensure an even consistency across your garden patio. However, Granite paving slabs have undergone a more complex process; being machine cut for clean, smooth edges and then sawn and honed for a shiny, polished look. Because of this process, it makes Granite paving is the superior choice of natural stone as it looks more luxurious and professional, very similar to Porcelain paving. It also means sandstone will have a more natural, rustic look with a heavily textured surface in comparison. Granite is also a more dense stone, being tight-grained in nature and therefore able to withstand heavy traffic and more use than sandstone paving. Please be aware that over time Granite Paving will fade naturally as the weather will cause changes to the surface texture and colour. If you prefer something that retains its colour and texture, Porcelain Paving should be the one you choose. Porcelain is able to retain its colour much better due to it being manmade.
