Choosing between Porcelain and Sandstone Paving is a difficult task and an enquiry we get often, so the first step is to understand the differences and similarities between them. Sandstone, as we have mentioned earlier, is a natural material that is found in stone quarries in India, whereas Porcelain is manufactured paving that is developed and printed in factories. Many of our customers will tend to lean more towards Porcelain Paving because of the wide range of colours and designs that are available, and because they are printed, you won't have to worry about any colour anomalies and have a uniform garden patio. Porcelain Paving is also favoured because they look more sleek and contemporary, as opposed to Sandstone Paving which is more traditional and rustic. The tip of the iceberg with Porcelain Paving is that because they are man-made paving slabs, they have been carefully developed to have longevity and strength and therefore won't easily get damaged or need replacing. There are certain steps that need to be followed during manufacturing that makes Porcelain Paving as durable as they are. These porcelain slabs are basted with 1400 degrees heat and pressure, then go through vitrification and rectification - all done to ensure that these slabs are long-term investments and will be able to withstand all manners of weather and traffic. Every individual porcelain slab has been printed on with the same design so they all match each other, which, as we said, created a cohesive look. This is not possible with Sandstone which will have colour variations and will differ from slab to slab. Have you tried our Garden Visualiser yet?
