Polar Ice Chippings for Your Drive
Adding decorative chippings to your driveway gives you so many different colour options to choose from so you can perfectly match it to the colour of your house. It is also a fairly easy job, low cost and low maintenance throughout the year.
We recommend using a stone that measures between 14mm and 20mm for paths and driveways. This is so the stones are large enough not to risk getting stuck in your tyre or in your shoes. The fact that these chippings are angular also means that they lock together well, forming a strong base for you to walk on.
Polar Ice Chippings will look fantastic as a path around your house, and feel great to walk on. They will also add some contemporary colour to the front of your house when used on your driveway!
Polar Ice Chippings for Your Garden

If you're looking to put something down in an area that doesn't get used, but gets looked at quite often, Polar Ice Chippings would fit the bill perfectly. It would add some colour and some shimmer to an area and completely transform your outdoor space.

How to Lay Polar Ice Chippings in Your Drive
Have you been inspired to add Polar Ice Chippings to your garden? Whether you want to add these decorative stones as a garden feature or use them on your drive or pathway around your home, this guide will give you all the hints and tips you need!
Most Landscapers would advise you to install a stable base for the decorative stone to be laid on. Limestone Type 1, also referred to as MOT Type 1, would be the best option for this, which is a graded, 40mm Limestone.
One of the first steps is measuring the area of where you'd like the chippings to go, once this is done, you can use our Quantity Calculator to work out how much stone you'll need. We would suggest having a base of 50mm.
Dig out the desired area with a depth between 50mm - 150mm, ensuring this includes 50mm for your MOT Type 1 base and 50mm for your Grey and White Chippings.
Add your 40mm Limestone Type 1 to your dug-out area and ensure a minimum of 50mm is laid. Not only will this provide a durable base, but it will also aid drainage.
We recommend installing a layer of Weed Fabric to ensure pesky weeds don't start coming through the fabric; these come in multiple sizes for you to choose from.
Once the fabric has been laid, you can start putting your White and Grey Chippings down! Remember to add this to at least a 50mm depth.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal their true colour.
