Azpects Easy Joint, Buff Sand
EASYJoint is one of the top jointing grout producers in the country, loved for its affordability and ease of use, and has become a leading product due to the first-of-its-kind sweeping-in grout. EASYJoint remains to be the only "All Weather Paving Joint Compound" produced and sold in the UK. over time landscapers and homeowners have been impressed with how straightforward and adaptable Easy Joint is, which has made it a must-have during landscaping projects.
Along with Buff Sand, the Easy Joint is also available in a range of different colours, the collection encompasses a wide range of shades that will be suitable to be used with various paving slabs in various colours. The Easy Joint is also available in Mushroom, Stone Grey and Basalt, and you are sure to find one that will suit your paving.
Easy Joint grout is straightforward to use and apply, durable and gives your paving a seamless look and a tidy finish. Appropriate to use on both Sandstone and Limestone (natural) and Porcelain Paving, making it a versatile product. The only aspect you need to consider is that there has to be a minimum of 3mm gap in the jointing for you to be able to use the Easy Joint, any smaller and it won't be effective. We think that 5mm is the ideal width for the jointing to be, but please ensure that it's not less than 3mm, and also check that the joint is 25mm deep.
As we have stated before, the Easy Joint is very easy to apply. All that is required of you is to dampen the paving slabs with water before you start (this is vital for natural stone), then at a brisk pace, sweep and brush the compound into the joints so all the gaps get filled, letting the water smoothen the process. This job is so straightforward that it can be achieved by anyone who has some DIY experience and is fast on their feet!
The Buff Sand compound is a yellow-y, beige shade, darker than mushroom but not too dark. It will be suitable for paving that is beige, brown and sand; on the other hand, if you're considering something a little more contrasting you can apply this with darker paving as well.
How to Use EasyJoint
As mentioned before, EasyJoint is the most cost and time-effective way to add grout to your jointing. To help you get on your way we have designed an easy-to-follow guide so you know exactly what you need to do before you start your project.
Step 1 – Before your start with the grout, you need to consider your paving carefully and measure it in order to ascertain if the joints are correct at 3-5mm and at least 25mm deep.
Step 2 – If you have natural stone in your garden or driveway, such as Sandstone and Limestone, then you have to carefully wet the entire area before you start the jointing process. You can use a hose pipe, the constant flow of water will make your life much easier however if that's not possible you can use a watering can but make sure you fill it up as quickly as possible.
Step 3 – Once you have made sure that the paving is not dry at all, pour out the EasyJoint onto the paving.
Step 4 – Carefully add water to the dumped Easy Joint and create a slurry.
Step 5 – As you are watering the compound, at the same time, start sweeping the compound into the joints. Be as quick and rigorous as possible during this step because you don't want your slurry and paving to dry out. We recommend working alongside a 2nd person so one person can brush the compound into the joints while the other is pouring water on the paving when needed.
Step 6 – Don't stress about the Easy Joint running out, apply as much as you need to and if you have used up all the product, pour more of the Easy Joint onto the slabs and keep working until all the gaps are properly filled. You have to be extra careful and fast when completing this project during the summer months because the hot weather will make the compound dry more quickly and that is the last thing we want.
Step 7 – Continue sweeping until all the gaps in your paving have been filled. Once that's all done, go around the paving with another spray of water to ensure all the product is properly distributed. This will compress the grout even further, making it more smooth and sleek and also making your paving look shiny and professional
Step 8 – Finally, smooth over the jointing with a pointer tool to give your paving a professional finish.
PLEASE NOTE:
It is not suitable for poorly draining or persistently wet site conditions. It is a natural product that allows water to permeate through. The product when freshly laid will be bright in colour but because of its permeability, it may over time become dirty and change in appearance. Some natural growth of algae and mould can occur, which can generally be easily cleaned away.
The compressive strength of EASYJoint is such that it will adequately take the downward forces exerted by pedestrians & domestic cars but is not designed to form a structural part of the path/driveway. The integrity of the project can only be maintained if the surface material is adequately bedded into the base, which in turn is constructed to an appropriate specification.
