Cotswold Chippings 10-20mm
These decorative garden stones are one of our best-selling stones within our entire range! Cotswold Chippings are classed as angular decorative stones, which are made of Dolomitic Limestone that has a natural, cream colour. These decorative chippings measure between 10mm and 20mm, making them the perfect shape and size for use on a path or drive.
Consisting of two tones of colours, these Chippings are mainly made up of cream-coloured stones, with the secondary colour being more of a buff decorative stone. This striking colour is both very natural and easy on the eye, while at the same time being bright enough to create a real contrast and create a real statement.
Please note that these chippings are not fish-friendly, so we wouldn't recommend using them in a pond that attracts wildlife.

Cotswold Chippings for Your Drive
Chippings are a very popular option for people to add to their driveway, the main reason is that they make a great statement for the entrance of your house, as a decorative stone supplier, we have many different options available for you to choose from, no matter what your ideal colour is.
Another reason why chippings are so popular to use on a drive is that they are low cost, low maintenance and don't always require a professional to lay them. In comparison to other driveway options such as Block Paving, Chippings are great value, with the only required maintenance being to top them up every year.
Cotswold Chippings as a Decorative Garden Feature

How to Install Chippings as a Driveway
Installing Cotswold Chippings as a driveway requires the same sort of guidance as it would if you were laying it as a garden feature. We would class it as a job for a confident DIYer, if you're interested in doing it yourself, read our how-to guide below.
Generally speaking, we would always recommend installing a stable base for the stone to go on; Limestone Type 1, also referred to as MOT Type 1, would be suitable, which is a graded, 40mm Limestone.
Measure your driveway space on which you'd like to put your decorative stones; you can then use our Quantity Calculator to work out how much stone you'll need. We would suggest having a base of 50mm.
Dig out the desired area with a depth between 50mm - 150mm, ensuring this includes 50mm for your MOT Type 1 base and 50mm for your Cotswold Chippings.
Add your 40mm Limestone Type 1 to your dug-out area and ensure a minimum of 50mm is laid. Not only will this provide a durable base, but it will also aid drainage.
We recommend installing a layer of Weed Fabric to ensure pesky weeds don't start coming through the fabric; these come in multiple sizes for you to choose from.
Once the fabric has been laid, you can start putting your Cotswold Chippings down! Remember to add this to at least a 50mm depth.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally-sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal their true colour.
