VUBA, VubaMac Base Aggregate
VubaMac Base Aggregate is an eco-friendly, flood-resistant paving solution specifically designed for resin-bound surfacing. It uses 100% recycled aggregates and renewable binders, making it a sustainable alternative to traditional paving methods like concrete and asphalt. One of its standout features is the No Dig approach, which reduces the need for excavation and drainage systems, preserving the natural landscape.
VubaMac is highly permeable, and compliant with Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), which makes it ideal for preventing water pooling and promoting natural water drainage. It forms a strong monolithic bond with resin surfaces, ensuring long-lasting durability and resistance to heavy foot or vehicle traffic. The installation is quick and easy, with the complete system ready for pedestrian or vehicle use within a day. This makes it a highly convenient and effective option for both residential and commercial projects
What is VubaMac Base Aggregate?
VubaMac is a flexible, highly durable, and eco-friendly base specifically designed for resin-bound surfacing applications. Unlike traditional base materials, which may not be optimized for resin-bound systems, VubaMac forms a strong, monolithic bond with the resin-bound surface when applied within the recommended inter-coat window. This innovation enables the creation of the first fully functional resin-bound surface.
The complete VubaMac system, including the resin-bound surface layer, is installed at a total thickness of 40mm for pedestrian traffic and 50mm for areas exposed to vehicular traffic, ensuring optimal performance and durability.
With a monolithic bond that ensures long-lasting performance, VubaMac outshines traditional materials such as concrete and asphalt in terms of durability and flexibility. Its simple application process, managed by a single supplier, provides exceptional convenience, allowing installations to be completed in just one day. This minimizes disruption and offers a smoother, quieter solution. Embrace a greener, more resilient future with VubaMac.

How VubaMac Base Aggregates is Installed In Your Garden
Step 1: In the desired area, you need to add the base layer of the VubaMac Structural Reinforcement mesh. The mesh is available in 35sqm rolls that you can purchase from Stone Zone. Make sure to check the square meterage of the area you want covered before purchasing the mesh.
Step 2: Is to lay down a layer of Urethane Binder Course. The Urethane Binder Course consists of High Strength Railway Ballast, UV Polyurethane Resin, and finally Binding Quartz. The depth of this layer is dependent on the use of the surface, you must install 20mm for a pedestrian area, 30mm for vehicles or 34mm for heavy vehicles.
Step 3: After the Binder Course layer, a second mesh layer is added for extra durability and to ensure everything is packed in.
Step 4: Finally, you can add in your Resin Bound layer. Here at Stone Zone, we are proud stockists of a multitude of Resin colours, which you can find HERE; perfect for whatever colour pallet you want your walk or driveway to be.
Why Choose VubaMac Base Aggregate
By using 100% recycled aggregates and renewable binders, VubaMac significantly reduces its environmental footprint, addressing critical concerns such as CO2 emissions from concrete and VOC emissions from asphalt. Its innovative No Dig method preserves the earth by eliminating extensive excavation, saving millions of kilograms of soil per project, and removing the need for traditional drainage systems, making it a sustainable choice for modern construction.
As mentioned above VubaMac does not require any digging. VubaMac removes the requirement for heat-applied, excavated bases, reducing the overall depth of both base and resin-bound surfacing systems to under 56mm. This not only minimizes excavation but also reduces the need for heavy machinery, making it a more sustainable option for hard landscaping surfaces. In contrast, asphalt is a high-VOC material that releases harmful gases during its production, similar to the emissions generated in cement production for concrete.
Furthermore, it is easy to implement in your garden;
- One supplier for all components.
- Installation completed in just 1 day, saving time compared to waiting for tarmac or concrete to cure.
- Complete project control; not dependent on other trades for base construction. b
- Minimal mess during installation.
- Results in a flatter, more uniform surface.
- Less Disruption: Reduced noise, heavy machinery, and spillages.
