To keep your VUBA resin-bound surface in excellent condition, regular cleaning is key, especially for lighter colours where dirt can be more noticeable. Power washing is effective, but be sure to hold the lance at a 90-degree angle and maintain a distance of at least 300mm from the surface to avoid disturbing the aggregates.

Oil, Dirt & Debris Oil spills, particularly from lubricants or fuel, can penetrate the surface quickly. Clean up spills immediately using absorbent materials to prevent staining. For tougher stains, an emulsifying degreaser is recommended. Avoid prolonged use of harsh solvents, and if stains persist, contact VUBA for expert advice.

Weeds, Moss & Lichen A permeable membrane beneath the resin prevents weeds from growing underneath, though surface weeds may still appear. These can be easily removed with a jet wash. In damp or shaded areas, moss, lichen, or algae may develop—use manufacturer-recommended treatments to control these effectively.

Fruit, Berries & Leaves To avoid staining, promptly remove fallen fruit and leaves. For existing stains, mix 1.5 litres of sodium hypochlorite (NaClO) with 4.5 litres of water and 100ml of non-oxidising shampoo (such as baby shampoo). Apply evenly, gently scrub with a stiff brush, and rinse thoroughly, ensuring runoff doesn’t affect nearby plants.

Rust & Tyre Marks Rust can develop from metal items like BBQs or hanging baskets, or from naturally occurring pyrite within the aggregates. Although rare, pyrite rust can occur when exposed to moisture. Use a non-acidic rust remover as per the manufacturer's instructions. Tyre marks can be removed by steam cleaning or scrubbing them with hot water and detergent.
