Regular cleaning is essential to maintain the excellent condition of your VUBA resin-bound surface, especially for lighter colours where dirt is more visible. Power washing is effective, but be sure to hold the lance at a 90-degree angle and keep it at least 300mm away to avoid disturbing the aggregates.

Oil, Dirt & Debris
Oil spills, particularly from lubricants or fuel, can quickly seep into the surface. Clean spills promptly with an absorbent material to prevent stains. For tougher stains, an emulsifying degreaser is effective. Avoid prolonged use of harsh solvents and contact VUBA for advice on more stubborn stains.

Weeds, Moss & Lichen
A permeable membrane beneath the resin helps prevent weed growth, although weeds may still appear on the surface. These can be easily removed using a jet wash. In shaded or damp areas, moss, lichen, or algae may develop—use appropriate treatments as per the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Fruit, Berries & Leaves
Fallen fruit and leaves can cause staining if not removed promptly. Clean up immediately to prevent discolouration. For existing stains, use a solution of 1.5 litres of sodium hypochlorite (NaClO), 4.5 litres of water, and 100ml of a non-oxidising shampoo (e.g., baby shampoo). Apply evenly, scrub gently with a stiff brush, and rinse thoroughly, ensuring the runoff doesn’t affect nearby plants.

Rust & Tyre Marks
Rust can develop from metal objects like BBQs or hanging baskets, or from pyrite in the aggregates. Though rare, rust from pyrite may appear when exposed to moisture. Treat rust stains with a non-acidic rust remover following the manufacturer's instructions. Tyre marks can usually be removed by steam cleaning or scrubbing them with hot water and detergent.
