Oil, Dirt & Debris Oil spills, particularly from lubricants or fuel, can quickly seep into the surface. Cleaning spills promptly with an absorbent material can help prevent stains. For stubborn stains, use an emulsifying degreaser. Avoid prolonged use of harsh solvents, and consult VUBA for advice on difficult stains.

Weeds, Moss & Lichen A permeable membrane beneath the resin surface helps prevent weed growth from below, though weeds may still appear on the surface. They can be easily removed with a jet wash. Moss, lichen, and algae, common in shaded or tree-covered areas, can be treated with suitable products, following the manufacturer's recommendations.

Fruit, Berries & Leaves Fallen fruit and leaves can cause staining on resin surfaces. Remove them quickly to prevent discolouration. For existing stains, clean with a solution of 1.5 litres of sodium hypochlorite (NaClO), 4.5 litres of water, and 100ml of a non-oxidising shampoo, like baby shampoo. Apply the mixture evenly, scrub gently with a stiff brush, and rinse thoroughly, ensuring the runoff doesn’t damage nearby plants.

Rust & Tyre Marks Rust may occur from metal items like BBQs or hanging baskets, or from naturally occurring pyrite in the aggregates. Though rare, rust from pyrite can form when exposed to moisture. Use a non-acidic rust remover as directed by the manufacturer to treat rust stains. Tyre marks can typically be removed with steam cleaning or scrubbing with hot water and detergent.
