6mm Screened Soil for Seeding

The 6mm Screened Soil is a great option if you are on the hunt for an all-around, versatile soil that can be used for a wide range of jobs. Furthermore, we suggest you remove old, unwanted soil from your garden beds and replace them with the 6mm Screened Soil as it will give your seeds and plants the best chance to grow.

As a result of how fertile the Screened Soil is, it works as a jump-start for your plants, improving and aiding their root development. This soil is also a great choice if you want to plant fruits, veg, flowers, shrubs and more. 6mm Screened Soil for Laying Turf

If your garden and lawn have become drab and under-maintained over time and you want to replace them, we have the perfect solution for you. Our Wessex Turf is perfect to add some brightness and freshness to your garden. To ensure that your turf stays as healthy as possible, we'd suggest putting in an initial later of the 6mm soil as a base layer before installing the turf. We'd also advise that you rake the soil well once it's been laid just to get rid of further debris. This will help keep your turf healthy and bright for many months to come.

What is Screened Soil?

All the Soils sold by Stone Zone & Landscaping Centre are screened to different grades. Screening the soil is a very important process as it separates larger pieces of debris from the soil. When you're using soil as a planting medium, the last thing you want is to find stones and sticks on your soil constantly, so this process saves you a lot of time prepping the soil!

Commonly known as a 'Scalping Screen,' this piece of machinery acts as a large sieve for recycled soils. The soil will go through a conveyor belt which has holes graded to different sizes. For this soil, the holes are only 10mm, meaning that anything that measures more than 10mm should be separated from the soil, leaving mainly pure soil that then gets bagged up.

This soil can be collected at one of our depots in Wimborne, Bournemouth or Dorchester, or our garden soils can be delivered nationally to anywhere in the UK.
