Polar White Chippings 10mm
This garden stone is one of our best-selling decorative chippings - and we can see why! This white-coloured decorative stone has a stunning, natural sparkle in the light which creates a truly dazzling garden feature. As well as being predominantly white, this stone also has subtle speckles of grey and cream throughout the stone.
This type of garden chipping is considered a 'premium and precious' stone due to being made up of Dolomitic Marble. Measuring, on average, 10mm in size, this angular chipping stone is best used within garden features and sometimes as a path. Although this is a strong, hard-wearing stone, this cannot be used for driveways due to the stone being too small. Please also note that, due to this garden stone not being fish-friendly, we wouldn't recommend use in garden fish ponds.
10mm Polar White Chippings Features
- Great for garden borders or driveways
- White, Dolomite stones
- Grey, rust and buff stones are sparsely present
- NOT Fish-friendly
Polar White Chippings for Your Garden
With these attractive decorative gardens, stones are in such a versatile, singular colour, which makes them nice and easy to match with gardens of any colour scheme.
A popular use of Polar White Chippings is to border your current, hard-landscaped areas, such as garden patios, Decking and Artificial Grass. These stones are great for creating a contrast between different coloured features and break the garden up in a nice and colourful, yet sophisticated way.
As well as bordering large garden features, you could use Polar White Chippings as your main garden feature. If you've got a small space that you rarely use, Garden Chippings make for an attractive, yet low-maintenance garden that can be enjoyed no matter what the weather is like.
Polar White Chippings for Practical Use
Maybe you're looking for some stones to use as a pathway around your house or throughout your garden, or maybe you're just looking to fill a dormant space in your front garden that doesn't really get used. Either way, Polar White Chippings will make that outdoor space look really impressive whatever you use them for!
Adding decorative stone to plant beds or borders is very popular, but also a great idea to protect your plants and their soil during heat waves or extremely hot temperatures. Simply buy a few maxi bags and scatter the decorative stones over the topsoil to keep the soil as cool and moist as possible. PLUS it also really enhances the look of your plants!

How to Lay Polar White Chippings
The task of laying Polar White Chippings in your garden may not be as daunting as you think! As long as you've got the right equipment and you're a semi-experienced DIYer, it can be an easy project that is also low-cost and very rewarding! Read our basic guide for the best tips below.
Firstly, you'll need to measure the area in which you'd like to place your Polar White Chippings. Once you've done this, you can use our quantity calculator to work out how many maxi bags or bulk bags you need.
Professionals would always recommend laying a base layer before you put your decorative chippings down, especially if you're laying Polar White Chippings as a pathway, we would suggest this base layer measures approx. 50mm deep. The most popular base layer choice is usually either Scalpings or Type 1 Limestone. These crunch down to form a very sturdy yet cushioned base for your decorative chippings to then go on.
Once you've bought the right amount of materials, ensure you dig out 50mm in depth for your base layer, and then a further 50mm for your decorative stone to go on. You might need to hire a wacker plate to completely crush the base layer down. It's also good practice to use a spirit level to ensure a level area.
An added option, which comes down to personal preference is using weed membrane on top of your base layer. This is a step most people will do as it means you won't start seeing any unsightly weeds come through your lovely decorative area.
Finally, fill your base layer with Type 1 or Scalpings, and then your decorative stone can go on top. Adding the base layer will also ensure your garden gets the drainage it needs.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to our Decorative Stones being a naturally-sourced product, there will always be some variation from batch to batch, especially in terms of colour. On occasion, your garden stones may be very dusty; we recommend hosing your new stones down to wash them and reveal their true colour.
