Perfect for creating a stunning decked patio, this range offers exceptional value while maintaining impressive durability and stylish design.
Eco-Conscious Materials
Wessex® Verde Evolved Composite Decking is sustainably crafted to be a more eco-conscious alternative to traditional timber decking. Made from 55% recycled hardwood and 35% recycled plastics (HDPE), it combines environmental responsibility with long-lasting performance.
Special additives are included to enhance durability and provide UV resistance, ensuring your decking remains looking great over time. This environmentally friendly composition earns it the name WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) Decking.
Versatile, Dual-Sided Boards
If you’re after composite decking that delivers the look of real wood—without the high cost or maintenance—these boards are the perfect choice. Featuring dual-sided designs, you can choose between a sleek grooved finish for a clean, modern look or a realistic woodgrain texture that mimics traditional timber decking. These versatile boards give you the freedom to design your outdoor space exactly how you envision it.

Installation Tips
How to Measure
Start by measuring the width and length of your space in metres, then multiply these figures to calculate the total area in square metres.
Each Evolved 3.6m deck board covers approximately 0.53m².
To estimate how many boards you'll need, divide your total square metreage by 0.53. This will give you the approximate number of boards required.
Be sure to round up to the next whole number and allow for around 5% extra to cover cutting and potential wastage.
Refer to our handy Square Metre Guide below to make planning even easier!
Measuring the end boards
Start by measuring the total perimeter of your decking area.
Each Evolved Range End Board measures 3.6 metres in length.
Next, divide your total perimeter measurement by 3.6.
Then, round up to the nearest whole number to determine how many end boards you'll need for a clean, professional finish.

Storage Tips
To prevent damage, make sure all deck boards are stacked neatly and securely.
Store them off the ground, placing them on level supports spaced no more than 300mm apart.
Cover the boards to protect them from weather exposure and dirt, ensuring they stay in optimal condition.
Handling Tips
Exercise extra caution when moving or lifting decking boards to prevent any scratches or chips.
Keep your work area clean and organized to avoid debris or waste materials from affecting the decking.
As composite products are sensitive to temperature, allow the boards to acclimatize to the outdoor environment for 24 hours before installation. This helps ensure the best results.
Subframe Tips
Ensure that joist centres are spaced no more than 300mm apart, with noggins positioned no more than 600mm apart.
When using timber for your subframe, make sure all joists are properly supported.
To extend the lifespan of your timber joists, we recommend applying our Deck Tape on top.
For areas where two deck boards meet (butt-joints), a double joist will be required for additional support.

What is the Difference Between Porcelain and Sandstone?
When selecting paving materials for your outdoor spaces, Porcelain and Sandstone offer distinct qualities suited to different preferences and requirements.
Porcelain Paving
Porcelain is a manufactured material designed to replicate the aesthetic of natural stone while delivering superior durability and minimal maintenance. Its production involves vitrification, where pure clays and minerals like quartz are heated to temperatures exceeding 1200°C. This process results in:
Durability: Porcelain slabs are exceptionally strong, resisting scratches, stains, and wear over time.
Non-Porous Surface: Being waterproof and resistant to mold, moss, and frost makes Porcelain ideal for wet climates or areas around pools.
Minimal Maintenance: Unlike natural stone, Porcelain retains its texture and color without sealing, requiring only basic cleaning.
Safety: With an R11 skid rating, Porcelain provides excellent grip even in wet conditions, ensuring safety in high-traffic or family-friendly areas.
Modern Aesthetic: Its refined, sleek appearance works well in contemporary garden designs.
Sandstone Paving
Sandstone, a natural material sourced from quarries (primarily in India), exudes a traditional, rustic charm. Its distinctive riven texture and natural variations make it a popular choice for homeowners seeking a timeless appeal.
Eco-Friendly: Sandstone’s porous nature allows rainwater absorption, aiding in natural drainage and potentially reducing flood risk.
Natural Aging: Over time, Sandstone develops a weathered patina, appealing to those who enjoy a vintage or aged aesthetic.
Maintenance: Regular sealing is needed to preserve its colors and protect against weathering. Without sealing, its hues gradually fade to softer, lighter tones.
Traditional Look: Sandstone’s textured finish and natural variations add warmth and character to outdoor spaces.
Comparative Overview
Feature Porcelain Sandstone
Durability High—resists wear, weather, and stains Moderate—requires sealing and upkeep
Maintenance Low—easy to clean, no sealing needed High—regular sealing to maintain color
Water Absorption Non-porous—completely waterproof Porous—absorbs water, aids drainage
Aesthetic Sleek, modern, and consistent Natural, rustic, and textured
Environmental Impact Low water absorption limits eco benefits Supports rainwater absorption
Cost Generally higher upfront cost More affordable, but with ongoing upkeep
Choosing the Right Option
Your decision should align with your aesthetic goals, maintenance preferences, and environmental considerations:
Opt for Porcelain Paving for a modern, sleek look with minimal maintenance and long-term durability.
Choose Sandstone Paving for a traditional, natural vibe with environmental benefits and a rustic charm.
Both materials bring unique advantages, allowing you to tailor your choice to your lifestyle and outdoor needs.
