Discounted Wessex® Composite Decking

Everyone here at Stone Zone is delighted to be able to share with you our brand new in-house Decking, the Wessex® Composite Decking. We have sourced these Decking boards directly from our trusted manufacturer and are therefore able to guarantee their quality and offer competitive prices.

You may be wondering what makes our Wessex® Composite Decking stand above other Decking brands, let us explain. We are able to offer much more affordable prices for our Decking boards, especially when compared to other leading brands such as Composite Prime Decking and DuoDeck, whilst still matching their high quality. Therefore, for those who are looking to get a decked patio, our Wessex® Composite Decking are an affordable choice.

The manufacturing of Wessex® Composite Decking was intentionally conscious of the environment - the boards are composed of 87% recycled plastics, such as bottle tops and containers, commonly found in typical households. The remaining make-up of the decking boards contains top-quality wood flour. These components are why these decking boards have been labelled 'plastic decking' and are considered a composite garden feature.

How to buy Discounted Wessex Decking
Single 3.6m Decking Boards. Includes # Starter Clips and #mid T clips.

These innovative Decking boards have been cleverly developed to have what looks like real wood grain in order to resemble natural wood decking. Furthermore, they are also dual-sided with each side being a different colour - in this case, the colours are Teak, a classic brown shade and Antique, a taupe, a gentle grey-brown shade. Having 2 different colour options with your decking means that you have more designs to play with and essentially get 2 styles of decking for the price of 1! You will be able to test out what combinations look good in your garden or even use one colour for the borders and one for the main body.

Alongside the authentic and natural look of these decking boards, they have been developed to have UV inhibitors, these feature means that the vibrant colours of your decking will not discolour or lighten over the years - your Decking will look new and fresh for the foreseeable future.

Each of the decking boards has been designed to have a well-known hollow design. Rather than being a single solid decking piece, the decking boards have small spherical holes through the decking boards - this was done especially to ensure that the boards are lighter and less dense when installing them.

Brown Decking
Brown Decking boards are a great choice for outdoor spaces as they mesh really well with the colours of plants and trees they are surrounded by. We think the Teak side of the decking boards will pair well with different garden features such as living walls, screens and dining features as the tan shade works with many different colour palettes.

Taupe Decking
On the other hand, Taupe is an understated yet no less effective choice for a garden decking area. The unique mix of grey and light brown means that the decking boards will pair well with a range of garden features such as a turfed area or a spot where you want to keep outdoor dining furniture.

Wessex Composite Decking for Your Garden
There are several factors to take into consideration when thinking about Composite Decking's rise in popularity in the last decade. We think it's because in almost every feature, composite decking fairs better than natural timber decking. it is important to keep in mind that garden decking is an area that will allow you to have parties, and rest and will have to withstand high levels of foot traffic, therefore longevity is a must. These factors are:

The Composite decking boards are longer lasting, not just the build of the boards but also because the colours retain much longer, the shapes do not warp, bend or splinter as the years pass.

Compared to natural timber decking, composite boards are far easier to maintain; they do not require any paint or staining.

Our Wessex® Composite Decking is a very affordable decking range and can be comparable to our Porcelain Paving and Sandstone Paving ranges.

And finally, these decking boards are a sustainable option and better for the environment, taking important strides to eliminate deforestation.

There are several garden design ideas that you can implement with these decking boards. They will work really well with features such as Artificial Grass, Decorative Stones as a border, for a dining area, and finally Firepits for a cosy, relaxing area.

Looking After Your Decking
Composite Decking is very low maintenance in nature, and will not require colour staining.

We do recommend sweeping your decking every few months to keep it clear of debris and dirt.

What is the Difference Between Porcelain and Sandstone?
When selecting paving materials for your outdoor spaces, Porcelain and Sandstone offer distinct qualities suited to different preferences and requirements.

Porcelain Paving

Porcelain is a manufactured material designed to replicate the aesthetic of natural stone while delivering superior durability and minimal maintenance. Its production involves vitrification, where pure clays and minerals like quartz are heated to temperatures exceeding 1200°C. This process results in:

Durability: Porcelain slabs are exceptionally strong, resisting scratches, stains, and wear over time.

Non-Porous Surface: Being waterproof and resistant to mold, moss, and frost makes Porcelain ideal for wet climates or areas around pools.

Minimal Maintenance: Unlike natural stone, Porcelain retains its texture and color without sealing, requiring only basic cleaning.

Safety: With an R11 skid rating, Porcelain provides excellent grip even in wet conditions, ensuring safety in high-traffic or family-friendly areas.

Modern Aesthetic: Its refined, sleek appearance works well in contemporary garden designs.

Sandstone Paving

Sandstone, a natural material sourced from quarries (primarily in India), exudes a traditional, rustic charm. Its distinctive riven texture and natural variations make it a popular choice for homeowners seeking a timeless appeal.

Eco-Friendly: Sandstone’s porous nature allows rainwater absorption, aiding in natural drainage and potentially reducing flood risk.

Natural Aging: Over time, Sandstone develops a weathered patina, appealing to those who enjoy a vintage or aged aesthetic.

Maintenance: Regular sealing is needed to preserve its colors and protect against weathering. Without sealing, its hues gradually fade to softer, lighter tones.

Traditional Look: Sandstone’s textured finish and natural variations add warmth and character to outdoor spaces.

Comparative Overview

Both materials bring unique advantages, allowing you to tailor your choice to your lifestyle and outdoor needs.

What Do I Need to Lay Porcelain?

You'll also need a joining compound, such as EasyJoint to fill the gaps between your Porcelain Slabs. We'd also recommend adding Porcelain Primer to the back of the slabs to ensure it stays put for years!

How Many Square Meters Shall I Buy?

If you times the Width by the Length of your new patio, you'll get the Square Meterage needed. We'd always recommend adding 10% for wastage and cuts.

How Much Will Delivery Cost?

It depends on where you are!

Delivery is calculated once you go through to your basket.
