If you love the look of natural stone but want to skip the upkeep, our new Natural range of Porcelain Paving is the perfect solution. Part of Stone Zone’s 2023 premium collection, this range is already making waves as a future best-seller.

A standout in the range, our Natural Sagar Black paving slab mirrors the character of hand-cut stone, featuring deep grey tones and black veining. Black Porcelain Paving
When planning your garden patio, choosing the right colour is key—it should complement your existing or future garden design. Black is a versatile and impactful choice that pairs effortlessly with virtually any style or colour of garden furniture. Plus, it offers an added visual bonus: when wet, black paving deepens to a rich jet-black tone, creating a sleek and dramatic effect.
Porcelain Paving Garden Ideas
Porcelain Paving is one of the standout favourites in our garden supplies range at Stone Zone, thanks to its sleek appearance, impressive durability, and wide variety of colours, sizes, and finishes.
What makes porcelain paving so appealing is the way it elevates your outdoor space. It can transform an underused area into a vibrant patio—perfect for entertaining, al fresco dining, or simply relaxing. Its clean, contemporary look works beautifully with other garden features like artificial grass, raised beds, and decorative stones, helping to create a cohesive and stylish design.
A key advantage of porcelain over traditional sandstone is its long-lasting performance. Manufactured through a high-temperature vitrification process, porcelain slabs are hard-wearing, fade-resistant, and immune to the typical signs of aging. With proper installation, they can last for decades—making them an eco-conscious choice that won’t need replacing anytime soon.
Porcelain is also incredibly low maintenance. Unlike natural stone, which often needs sealing and regular upkeep, porcelain only requires occasional sweeping and jet washing to keep it looking fresh. For homeowners who want beauty without the burden, porcelain paving is a smart, stylish solution.
What is the Difference Between Porcelain and Sandstone?
Porcelain and Sandstone are two popular but fundamentally different paving materials, with their primary distinction being their composition.
Porcelain Paving is a high-performance, man-made product crafted in specialist factories. Designed to replicate the look of natural stone, it offers enhanced technical features that traditional materials like sandstone or limestone lack. Our Sienna™ Porcelain Paving range exemplifies this innovation. Each slab is manufactured through a process called vitrification—a method where pure clay is blended with minerals like quartz and fired at temperatures reaching 1,200°C. This process results in an exceptionally hard-wearing surface with minimal water absorption—comparable in density to glass.
Post-vitrification, these slabs become completely non-porous and waterproof. They also resist mould, moss, and frost, making them ideal for wet or shaded environments. With an R11 slip-resistance rating, Sienna™ Porcelain remains safe underfoot—even in heavy rain or around pools.
Sandstone Paving, by contrast, is a naturally occurring stone quarried primarily in India. As a permeable material, it readily absorbs water, which makes it more susceptible to weathering and biological growth over time.
That said, some may consider Sandstone the more eco-conscious choice due to its natural porosity, which supports better drainage and can be beneficial in flood-prone areas.
