The bulk bags measure 800mm x 800mm and can carry a level load of approximately 1 metric tonne of materials.

Please keep in mind that you have purchased and have in your possession, one or more of our jumbo bags BEFORE you book one of our Bag Away services. This is vital as we can only collect the bags once they have been filled.

The Stone Zone Jumbo Bag is appropriate for a wide range of waste, from household and DIY to garden debris. Do take into consideration that you cannot reuse our Jumbo Bags as they can get damaged after carrying a heavy load and because the bags are also taken away during the waste collection.

We have taken every measure to ensure that our Bulk Bags are durable and can withstand large amounts of weight, and that is why we invested in bags made from the material polypropylene. There are several reasons why we chose this material in particular and we would like to explain those reasons.

What Waste Can We Dispose Of?

Inert Waste

The inert waste consists of Soil, Sand, Hardcore, Tarmac, Brick Rubble, and anything that has not undergone any physical, chemical, or biological transformations. The Inert Waste Bag Away Service is useful for anyone doing lots of work on properties and large landscaping projects. Once the Inert Waste is collected, we take it directly to a recycling centre where the soil and hardcore are separated. The hardcore is crushed and then used as 6S5 stone or Limestone Type 1 and the soil is screened to 10-20mm and then reused in other gardening products including our BS3882 soil.

Green Waste

The Green Waste Bag Away includes any natural waste that you may have while doing up your garden. This consists of items such as trees, leaves, grass, turf, hedge cuttings and more. This bag away service makes sure that cleaning out your garden is simpler than you originally thought. Once we remove your filled bulk bags, the Green Waste is taken to a Compost/Soil centre where the waste will be added to the rest of the recycled green waste and turned to compost. This ensures that the green waste is 100% recycled.

Clay or Chalk Waste

As the name indicates, the Clay and Chalk Bag Away surface is specifically for clay and chalk wastes that have accumulated during large gardening and landscaping projects.

Mixed Waste

As suggested by the name the Mixed Waste Bag Away can dispose of a wide range of different materials such as wood, plastics, metals, and roofing materials. This means that if you’re doing big renovations or doing a big clear-out, the Mixed Waste bag away will come in handy. Once we have taken the waste away from you, we ensure that at least 80% of the waste is recycled. Th jumbo bags themselves have to be taken to a landfill where they are either incinerated or recycled into non-virgin plastic. Wood waste is recycled and then reused to create animal bedding; finally, tin waste is taken to recycling plants.

Plasterboard Waste

For this category, we ONLY collect plaster boards. You must ensure that there are no other materials present in the bulk bags with the plasterboard. The way plasterboard waste is reused is very innovative. The plasterboards are taken to a treatment centre where through clever technology where the gypsum (a substance found in plasterboards that can be hazardous when mixed with other materials) is separated from the paper. The separated gypsum is then treated and used on new plasterboards and the paper is reused as animal bedding.

How to use our Jumbo Bag Away

But the correct number of bags you will need. You can either order online, in-store or over the phone.

Start stuffing the bags with your waste. To start using the bag, all you need to do is fold down the four corners of the bag to make it stable and then start filling it up.

The Jumbo Bags CANNOT be used for getting rid of electrical items, toxic substances, and sharp and hazardous materials. Under the implementation of the environmental law, items that we cannot dispose of include fridges, tyres, car batteries, pesticides, asbestos, paint tins and glass bottles. If you are not sure about what can and can’t be disposed of, please contact us before you purchase your bags.

We STRONGLY advise you against moving the Bulk Bag once it’s been filled because you will almost definitely either damage the bag or risk injuring yourself. As a result of these potential risks, we suggest you place your bag exactly where you want it to get picked up from and start filling it up there. Please remember that the bag must be placed within 4 meters (13 feet) of the public road. You must make sure that there are no potential hurdles and blocks nearby, this includes things like overhead wires, vehicles, and trees. The roadway must be a minimum of 3 metres (10 feet) wide to enable the collection lorry to gain access to the bag

Request a collection date for your bag and we will contact you with the confirmed date. Otherwise, we aim to collect the bag within 5 working days, you don't need to be present for this.
